^^ Don't mind them.

afam4eva:
Maybe you should start by telling us some of the innovations that Lagos has made that qualifies them for this award.
Btw, i live in LasGidi.

You live in gidi and u're still asking me what innovations Lagos have made?

Being innovative doesn't necessarily mean coming up with new ideas or methods, but implementing them be it new or copied.

LAGOS won't be a mega city as per infrastructure but will have a mega city if eko atlantic is completed. The entire lagos is damaged beyond repairs not because of any lazity on the part of the Government but due to human problems like poverty and illiteracy being at the forefront of this challenge. For example it is pitiable to note that Makoko is a big stain on the reemerging new face of Lagos initiated by Gov. Fashola. People are not responsive to development, I see a lot of the beautification efforts of this present administration become a refuse dump, some people have total destroyed the beautification barricades, dumping of refuse into drainages, slum areas and filty urban squalor, people are littering the streets with dirt and don't participate in environmental sanitation of their houses, people still building pit latrine in the 21st century. Lagos problem is beyond a responsive Government trying to develop the State. P O V E R T Y is too much. Let's accept our fate that Lagos won't be a mega city. All the infrastructure are already delabilitated, and need rehablitation

We need campaigns that build environmental awareness in Lagos.

FACT; if your city floods whenever it the heavens open up, with zero town planning, n dead bodies found lying on freeways once in a while, with lunatics parading the streets extorting commercial bus drivers, with toll gates situate in the middle of the city, with an unimproved drainage system n clogged gutters stuffed with utter filth, with poor waste management system n sooo much more.. UR city should not even be on any list except Nigerians /Lagosians including me, want to keep upholding the habit of self deceit n grand delusion.

Lol@those saying haters.. Una stupid gan!

Great news!

There are at least three types of negative people commenting on this thread

(1) Those who are blind to development, because they always put on a mask of tribal sentiments

(2) Those who are blind to development, because they always put on a mask of party affiliations

(3) Those who are actually IGNORANT, their opinions are someones opinion, and they operate with the herds mentality.

The questions you negative dolts should ask yourselves is:

Was Lagos of 2003 better than that of 1999
? Yes

Was Lagos of 2007 better than that of 2003
? Yes

Was Lagos of 2011 better than that of 2007 ? Yes

Will Lagos of 2015 be better than that of 2011 ? Most likely !!!! YIPEEE!!

Cyberknight: There is a city called Lagos in Portugal, after which Lagos in Nigeria was named. Question: which city was nominated, Lagos in Portugal, abi Lagos Nigeria? The city of overflowing gutters, uncontrollable agberos and danfo drivers, no public transport, unlicensed street markets, slums and filth? And ACN?
