Winds are one way traffic including there effects such as ocean surge and the rest, so it will be difficult to expect backlash at the source. For tsunamis that occur as a result of underwater earthquakes, it is understandable if effect is felt in all direction around the source depending on magnitude. Maybe LASG can elaborate further on explanation of their warning.

When I saw this topic on the front page, I began to wonder sincerely how the hell did a commissioner know there's gonna be a ripple of hurricane sandy? We have other countries close to the coastal region who have not even blown an alarm to that effect. Nigeria don't even have the facilities or manpower to forecast or predict such effects.
