My oga.pls is the primary market bidding for long time bond done monthly, quarterly or yearly. I mean the one you can only bid 50m and above directly for individual.

Primary market is monthly.

But secondary market takes place every business day.

You don't need N50 million if you allow your bank or stockbroker to bid for you

Findings showed that as of December 2022, Elumelu’s Heirs Holdings owed UBA N13.442 billion. However, the firm’s debt to the bank rose to N41.823 billion by June 2023. This shows that Elumelu’s Heirs Holdings borrowed N28.381 billion from UBA between January and June 2023.

Interestingly, while the loans borrowed by Heirs Holdings from UBA rose by 211.137 per cent between January and June 2023, the interest rate remained the same. The bank’s half-year financial statement showed that the rate was static at 15 per cent.

Baba is really gaming his own game:

What do you expect. Normally the more money you have the less stressful it's to make more money all things being equal.
Money and position creates more opportunities and privileges for more money.

Yes, your bank got money from their customers running to billions of Naira to bid on their behalf .

Ten year bond at 15.6% yield while long tenor FGN bonds closed at a yield of between 16.8% and 17.2% in the secondary market on Friday

Why would anyone conclude Unilever can never leave Nigeria? They sold their tea business already. They are exiting skincare and homecare business. They would only have the seasoning business led by Knorr (doing well though), which happens to be previously owned by other companies and even sold under different names in some countries. Unilever can very much exit Nigeria and if they stay, they would be a smaller entity probably more efficient though. Their remaining business is pressured both by Nestle's maggi, promasidor's onga and others

Please get in touch with a tax professional. Some of the registrars are asking for TIN ie Tax Identification Number, APR sent a mail to that effect last week

Withholding tax deducted on savings and investments is final. This means it is not seen as a tax credit

Thanks. Does tax credit mean a way to reduce my other taxes? That wasn't my idea, I just want to capture all taxes paid (income + investments) in one receipt if that is possible.

The rates are becoming more and more juicy. Risk-averse investors will start shifting base to fixed income market. It's an opportunity for long term stocks investors to start picking some fundamentally sound stocks at good prices. The smart ones will buy in tranches.

If you can get stocks that can give you a guaranteed total return of over 18% compounded for the next 10 years and above

I don't think there should be withholding tax on the payout, FGN needs money so anything can happen

18% guaranteed is a good deal for any risk - averse person, especially if the fund is much. Only a very few companies on NSE will be able to beat that in terms of Dividend yields. UBA present dividends yield is 8.14% , maybe they will be more generous in days ahead , with payout ratio of 6.64%, there is still a big room for generosity but I doubt if they can beat 18%.

For the guaranteed total return, i was referring to the addiion of the dividend yield and the exoected earning growth in the next 10 years.

UBA at the current dividend yield of 8.14%, if the earnings will grow by an average of 10% for the next 10 years. The total return of UBA will be 18.14%
