When I hear allegations, my initial instinct has never been Dismissal, or witch hunt, but I always ask myself, "What If this is True?", without me actually believing that it is True.

I no even Trust myself, let alone trusting anybody.

I am a mother fucking Cynic. The only thing wey I fit Trust small na stock recommendations. Any other thing, if I tell you say I Trust the allegations or that I trust una Brother Julius, then just know say I dey whyne you. Because I no trust both sides one bit.

I will confirm and revert today. Hearing two contradictory opinions from a source. If trading is to halt this week then there will be no trading on the 9th, Tuesday will be the last trading day but another source has told me it could potentially trade till Friday. So waiting confirmation. Also, there are some small bottlenecks that need to be sorted out which delayed the press release on Friday
sky2891:

Please, will there be trading on 9th before the halt or there will be no trade at all on the 9th?

My account officer in a stockbroking firm was earning less than N2 million per annum in 2008, the guy called Hakeem built a portfolio of ocer N30 million, had the opportunity to buy a block of 4 flats at Agege for around N8 million from a desperate seller but he kept on buying more penny stocks, insurance stocks , private placements, High Yield Investment Schemes of Nospetco and Sefteg until he found himself at ground zero.

The stockbroking firm closed shop in 2014.

Hakeem is now a farmer, doing averagely well but still found it extremely difficult to forgive himself

I hope people don't read it as derogatory that Hakeem became a farmer. Today people are hungry because we have lot's of fertile lands that are not cultivated especially in Southern Nigeria (to feed millions of hungry people) despite high levels of employment, perhaps because people have been looking down on farming and farmers shocked and some would rather harvest where they didn't sow instead of planting their own sad.

What happens if the custodian goes under?

Has this ever happened in the past?

ololufemi:

My brother, any mutual fund that is officially registered must be regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission "SEC" which requires that all assets they hold on behalf of investors or unitholders are domiciled with a custodian (a separate entity mandated to hold assets on behalf of the investors and fund managers). This custodial entity must not be associated or affiliated to the fund managers.

Technically, your funds are safe with the custodians.

If the mutual fund and or fund managers are not registered and regulated by the SEC, run away from them as fast as you can.

Yes this happened to a lot of stock broking firm workers. It felt like you had less risk and possibility to become millionaire and you would always think because you have first hand info you could stop losses before it's too late but it becomes a habit.
