ACCESS the more you look the less you see. See the level of inefficiency

Please don;t give up on my Access. This is just half way, they were in a similar situation last year. But, they came out stronger in the last quarter. Just look at it as a marathon race.

But, the FBNH that is trying, why are they yet to transform the improvement to dividend. Dividend for full year 2023 is yet to be paid while all others in this category had announced interim dividend for 2024. I had longed replaced my FBNH with Fidelity Bank grin

They are setting up shops, if things go their way they will rake in profits in the future. I think it's the right time to buy for long term

These are the issues.
Endless acquisitions that always leads to fat total assets but dwarf net assets without regard for minority stakeholders.
You begin to wonder if the owners themselves are really shareholders, because other reasonable founding bank shareholders have made sure returns reflect in the form of dividends.

By the way Unipetrol now Oando was far bigger than NDEP now Aradel in 1990.

It started as a small consulting firm of geologists and geophysicists. By the way the founder has a PhD in Geology, in his early 80s and now retired .

The company did not miss dividend payments in the last 20 years

I believe they are betting on greater integration between African countries. This is a valid long term strategy though I personally don't see that future.

TY Danjuma going into power. But the company he is using, KP Hydro Ltd, is not yet listed. Hope he will list it on NASD.

Did he list his upstream company? So don't expect him to list this one

The year Wale raise money in the capital market, the offer was oversubscribed based on the optimistic projections and growth forecast, na dat year he no pay dividend.

Compared to a company that promised to pay a dividend of N20 next year but later paid N22, which one will you be comfortable with?

Not to digress from the educative discussion about Aradel but for curiosity, why Dangote sugar? Kindly share, madam.
In this time of N1000/L petrol, it is difficult to see any obvious reason why Dangote sugar will return 100% unless the merger talks return to the table.
Mine may be an uncommon case, but I have reduced my Dangote holdings previously at N17.59 BE by 50% - sold at N52-55 and N34. I guess many like me bought based on perceived fundamentals. To recover from the current state of shareholders funds, forex loss, dividends streak, interests on loans, negative EPS seems like an uphill task especially with no solution to forex volatility in sight.
In my opinion, many dividends-paying stocks have more potentials of returning 100% sooner than Dangote sugar. Just a learner's point of view, and ready to buy once a good signal is seen.
well, I get where you're coming from... Especially the forex loss part. But I don't want to believe it'll continue like that forever, especially with the backward integration strategy in mind (the increase in biological asset figure from 7+billions to 18 billion YOY). This is asides the merger talk (which may come like a thief in the night)... At least we can confirm that Dangrice has started rice production... . My time horizon is 1year sha... In as much as I prefer dividend paying stocks, I don't mind with sugar grin

The growth of Aradel is organic, apart from the private equity investors who converted their loan to equities about 6 years ago. Compared with the counterpart that has engaged in numerous capital raising exercise.

Imagine 50k invested in Aradel in 1995 and 50k invested in Unipetrol now Oando in 1995.
Probably worth over N2 million for Aradel and probably worth 5k for Unipetrol

It is management quality and sincerity that creates wealth for shareholders on the long run

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 5:13pm On Oct 07
State of matter, we have gases, liquid and solid.

In the stock market we can make money out of thin air, especially if it a growth stock that doesn't have fundamentals, not profitable, operating in a high competitive sector.

If care is not taken the money made out of thin air can escape back into thin air or evaporate.

So we need to condense the gaseous money to make it liquid, by converting part of the paper profit to cash to handle emergency and other unforeseen circumstances.

If not , our case will be like the guy who turned $88,000 to $400 million within 12 years and went back to ground zero.

The next stage is to solidify the money by investing part of the paper profit into income generating assets like real estates, personal business, well managed dividend paying stocks, REIT and fixed income investments.

Little things matter alot.

If you told shareholders that you will release audited result on 30th September 2024 but you don't, it doesn't speak well

But assuming he released it before the due date, people will always believe the person.
