Curious they did not give much consideration to Oando in the Upstream developments and acquisitions compared to Seplat and Aradel. They also did not give a buy recommendation on Oando. Is it just because of the issues of governance and lack of clear information on fundamentals in the case of Oando, that made them not want to stick their neck out; or do they see the potentials of the acquisitions made by Oando as not good enough compared to those of Seplat and Aradel?

Your curiosity is not unfounded. OANDO issue, it has to be said, still lacks clarity - not that the brokers would be liable for all the recommendations they make - but they need some plausible deniability.

On the other hand, the lack of clarity possibly makes OANDO stock a candidate for a huge pleasant surprise (if it can still be described that way) due to erratic behaviour associated with stocks in such situation.

A stockbroking firm which makes money from trading is telling us the market is going to go gangbusters in 2025. I'm so surprised.

Investors would be wise to consider the alternative case too: Global equity markets are already richly valued. US housing and employment are slowing down. Protectionist policies are taking root. Public debt is high, limiting fiscal policy options. Odds of a global recession are rising, which could slam oil prices. Guess which country is still oil-dependent?

Happy 2025.

Happy for you if that is what you see.I don't see such. And if I should not align with thr projection for 2025.why should I tilt towards the one coming from someone who is nobody in that business. They have proven track record which you don't even have on this small thread. So I should listen to your noise about nothing good going to happen in the country. Do I look like a teenager to you. I have lived for reasonable yrs to know better with over 20yrs actiive experience in this business to be able to make my personal call.
Sorry you calls are irrelevant to my type concerning macro economics of naija by extension the naija stock market .

What did you expect them to say about oando when alot is not yet clear about them. They talked about the share redistribution which they know little still about. The last result is still a work in progress. They look to be more into fundamental sound stocks in thr buy calls with good margin of safety

I didn't abuse your mother. Keep the emotions out of it. Attack the argument, not the person.

Let's not prolong this distraction. If we just stick to the issues and to facts, we will be fine.

Could the market go up 40%? Sure. But the truth is that the market is a little frothy. People are betting their children's inheritance on low-margin, low-growth business with small-cap, low-liquidity stocks and without the most cursory of due diligence. As Buffett would say, Be fearful when others are greedy.

What I mean by the 10-day moving window is that it tracks all anomalies occurring within the last 10 days, starting from the current day. Each new day drops the earliest day from the list, maintaining a rolling 10-day period.

Regarding the volume anomaly, I analyzed the volumes from the past 252 days (excluding the current day) and calculated the rolling mean and standard deviation. If the current day’s volume exceeds the mean plus 2 standard deviations, I consider it an anomaly (or what stats people call an outlier). Additionally, for it to qualify as an anomaly, the price change must remain within ±2%.

shocked shocked shocked

I recall being forced to study these Stats courses in school. Never thought they would be useful to me, only cramming formulars upon formulars. I can see the value now from what you have created. Nice one Osita. Abeg, if you don't mind, can you help post weekly snapshot of the outliers? I know I am asking for too much but please indulge us. More blessings to you and your family this new year.

Bros cool down. He is referring to analysis on US markets and the attendant effect on other markets. He is basically saying that while being optimistic about Nigerian market, it is best to be cautious as well given the global data analyzed. There is a projection that US will go into recession next year which usually happens after back to back rate hikes and their ballooning debt figures. For me, I would be careful from Q4 next year.

Anyway does anyone know if there is any partnership between NLNG and Aradel or Seplat regarding gas supply to Europe? How does NLNG source their gas? Do they explore or they buy from companies like Aradel or Seplat?

from the angle of TA. banking index looking good to breakout.. I see banking stock likely do very well this quarter.

any idle cash can benefit from this... just look for any of the banking stock that underperforming relative to its peers.

anyway if what I saw on TA is correct, BULL may likely shows in the market as i dont expecting bank to move solo

this post is purely based on TA, may be my eyes is yet to get clear from the hangover stuff. pls consult BullBearMkt for clarification

My opinion only:
I think I see where you going with that question. cheesy However, the US and Qatar will be filling the void created by the exit of Russia following the expiration of gas transit agreements with Ukraine. US and Qatar will be supplying LNG to Europe along with existing suppliers including our very own NLNG.

To answer your question, Oando via the NAOC JV is an existing supplier of gas feedstock to NLNG. Aradel will be joining via the acquisition of SPDC JV assets by the Rennaisance consortium.

Unrelated to your question, imo I expect Oando to deliver a minimum 200% (x3) appreciation to a current holding or position (not SP) provided you qualify for the share distribution and barring any unforeseen significant disruption to field operations.

Have I made wrong calls in the past? You bet!
