Grouppoint: Hold up, you know what, nevermind, this is futile at this point since all it has me do is repeat what I have done over 10 times now for the umpteenth time. |

1. The currency is a national symbol just like the national flag is. Can you trample on any county's national flag in public without consequences? people burn flags everyday. doesn't make a difference to me. spraying is a personal choice that i detest. |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by HottFunmi: 5:08pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
Una still dey argue this thing? The rich that sprays the money does not have the time to read this anyway. Who will lose from the ban of this spraying? the poor or the rich? |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by Grouppoint(m): 5:11pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
All you have addressed is the issue of Naira abuse ocassioned by trampling upon the notes while spraying. I am stating that there is a greater evil occurring: Poor people are getting intimidated, and disillusioned by the showy and oppressive rich. (Some of those rich sprayers have drivers outside who have not seen their wages for 3 months, yet the money spryed that evening probably equals 1 year's wages of the driver.) When the driver 'organises' his oga, we'll be wondering why, |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by Kobojunkie: 5:17pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
Grouppoint: WHo are these poor people that have been disillusioned and intimidated by those who spray?? Are they idiots that they have nothing better to do with their lives than to allow themselves be disillusioned and intimidated by someone else display of his wealth as he chooses which is not shown in any way or form to endanger the lives of others?? Do you really think what these morons whom you claim exist need is the government to ban the rich to please them Mind you, spraying is not a solely rich only practise, even poor people do it. |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by Nobody: 5:31pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
NO more spraying a as we know it period. The musicians like KSA should up their fees for their perfomances or employ plateholders and take up collections people can still dash them money without littering the naira and trampling on it It's as simple as that |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by Grouppoint(m): 6:00pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
@Nwando, are you suggesting that KSA should resort to begging in order to maintain his lifestyle? Haba, KSA cant do that, I expect that he will simply retire. |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by bawomolo(m): 6:03pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
charging higher performance fees is not begging. it's called a proper business operation. they could set up a donation box/carton for the entertainers rather than mangle the money all over the floor. |
Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by godana(f): 7:58pm On Feb 21, 2008 |
lets all face reality. We were born into this culture which nigerians are known 4 all over. I understand that most people wouldn't go out there and spray money at parties, I dnt do it either. But the story is at one time in our lives we have all been involved in this culture especially when there's something good to celebrate with family members. Even professor's spray their kids at weddings or any other notable occassion. Imagine saying to your family dnt spray money on me on my special day. As 4 the issue of poverty. As long as heaven and earth continue to exist, there will always be poor people. Poverty does not affect people in nigeria only. We have poor people all over the world. Even the so called developed countries have some serious peoverty situation that u guys won't believe. So i suggest our leaders should place their energy on more pressing issues. Even poor people spray money when there is need 4 it on special occassions. |

Nigerian Administrators tend to tackle issues from the wrong end of the rope. The question that should come to mind is- Why would people spray Naira in the first place?? Answer? Cos Naira is so damned useless! So if Soludo is ashamed of Naira being sprayed, he should work harder to make it stronger!! Brintons wont spray pound sterling, neither would Americans spray dollars. Why!! Cos when an intending money sprayer thinks of what 1pound or 1dollar can buy at sainsbury, he would change his mind. Infact, I will keep spraying Naira till I scatter. Infact now that the stupid, misplaced sensibility law has been introduced, I will intensify my naira spraying prowess. If anybody near me for arrest, I go X am!! |

Been to LA. Been to London. Been to Sidney. Spent mur last vacation at Venice. I'm looking forward to mur next stop at British Columbia. At all these locations, I meet some of the worst Naira spraying homies I used to know back home at Shitta and Shangisha. They wont spray you a dime when you're having a party out there cos if they do they'll get pretty bleeped up with hunger. But as soon as the get to Murtala International airport and they change the dough at Yaro's, they start spraying anything that passes by. You see what am saying, , Give power to poor old Naira - Let there be constant power, let young graduates get better jobs, let industrial revamping commence, let there be growth. When these happens, we wont be wasteing our time contemplating Naira abuse on these forum but rather we'll be spending more quality discussing better issues like- "which Chick has the hottest arse in Nigerian showbiz" Peace. |

I cant just imagine how Nigerians reason.when you say law let us abide by it.take a look at this developed countries nigerians are running to with fake document, orioloori and all sorts of useless migration they started from somewhere.Am sure when nigers receive their currency as gift or what ever they will keep it for along time before changing it to naira, big fools am sure you will lick it who can put naira in their mouth.Abiding by law starts from your living room instead of you to face reality you are talking nonsense.useless nigerians you better go and live in KUWAIT |

No its not KSA! More like a way people like you make a living. Our culture respects moderation and socialism not showing of wealth (ill gotten in most cases). Stop this madness! CityBoy is Nigerian born and bred blogger who works in the City of London. |

Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by evolux(m): 2:42am On Feb 22, 2008 |
yes it has to be banned. It is high time KSA and other musicians in Nigeria to depend on the sale of tickets when they perform shows, sale of Cds,cassettes and royalty instead of using spraying as an avenue. It's never been our culture and never will. |

I'm thinkin cops would be 'gated' from high profile parties where d real sprayin goes on. Not d ones that spray 50s and serve six months thereafter |

@ Jermo, I've been trying to string together what you mean in your posting but I'm giving up because your grammatical construction is so twisted and f**ked up. However by using intuition and guessing what someone, who has "Germ" as a name, would say, I guess you're trying to say that homies seeing no sound thinking process behind the banning of Naira spraying are useless? Please confirm this so that I may know what kind of a soup I should dish at a germ infested brain!! |

nwando: Ehen! nwando, so oyinbo no dey "tamba", abi? There was a thread on the health section sometime ago where i asked WHICH HAND u wipe your ass with, no one replied! A friend once jested that for tissue paper users, the strands of hair on one's ass will carry the molecules of s**t like ants carry their food!! The issue of water Vs paper still remains a controversial one here in naija sha!!! But that was just a bit of digression, please pardon me! In reply to your above post & also in defence of people from the school of "tamba". What are they to do? Wash the Or maybe they could shred it into small bits, add water and use too? |

Hi house, there was an error in KSA statement which i will like to correct. "MONEY SPRAYING IS PART OF OUR CULTURE SAYS KSA " i'm a type that love the history of the past by listening to the old ages and have read many nigeria culture history book. None declare spraying as part of our culture. I agreed with KSA on one condition that money spraying is part of NIGERIA MUSIC CULTURE infact is the soul of Nigeria music. Take it away from the music lifestyle, all Nigeria musician are in problem. As in the government side, before any laws can be implememt. The government should observe the culture and the life style of the fellow people. |
