Mickey7: note:he who hates correction remains stupid ..no offence o
Thats it, some people don't like taking correction even when they know that they are on the wrong. In every Subject, there are rules that govern them. But when someone decide to over ride those rules then the person must be heading to failure.

By the end of July, I believe everyone will come here to post their post ume score. And that is when the Sheep will be selected from the Goats.

Just leave STORM, she knows she is had chosen the wrong answer but won't admit to it

A word is enough for the wise!

Okay love...u follow ur rules while I choose the correct option smiley
Remember to be calm oh...one love...

honey, the rule of English does not belong to one. It is the same all over the world. You cannot over ride it because when you do, then people will misunderstand your expression. They will think you mean that when actually you mean this and that will cause commotion.

Stick to the Rule and the rule will be part of you!

I wish you success!

Lol @ making noise. I'll soon go...lemme just try one more time. Just visit this link:

m.grammarbook.com/grammar-rules/subject-and-verb-agreement.aspx

But incase u refuse to do so (or incase my link posting sucks) I'll just quote the 14th rule

Rule 14:

Sometimes the pronoun who, that, or which is the subject of a verb in the middle of the sentence. The pronouns who, that, and which become singular or plural according to the noun directly in front of them. So, if that noun is singular, use a singular verb. If it is plural, use a plural verb.

Examples:

Salma is the scientist who writes/write the reports.
The word in front of who is scientist, which is singular. Therefore, use the singular verb writes.

He is one of the men who does/do the work.
The word in front of who is men, which is plural. Therefore, use the plural verb do.

Honestly, I think that sums it up..it was fun smiley

it seems u have not read the said Book u just mentioned now which is the INVISIBLE TEACHER. If u have really read that Book then I see no reason why u should choose a plural verb for a singular subject. If u have that Book then I wil say u have not actually read it cuz I have that book and thats where I got this question from. Just go back to the Book and open to page 53, Law 9 will explain it to u. Pls try to check it up and get back to me cuz it seems u have forgotten what u read from that Book if actually u have read it

These claims and counter-claims on the correctness of answers to practice questions, made some of us to suggest earlier that your Q and A be taken to the appropriate threads. If Any one of you thinks his/her answer is best suitable, then i'll advice you wait for a few more days when your mental prowess will be tested and your grammatical rectitude will be ascertained with the real questions instead getting into heated arguments.

For those who have been speculating to wether the strike will affect the post Ume, I will emphatically without any form of ambiguity that it will not. Reason being that post Ume is being conducted by ''Non Academic Staff Union'' of every University which is seperate body from ASUU. These Academic staff do not go the Chalk Board to lecture.

So, the date still remain 13th July.
