One_Naira: i for one will prefer a "criminal" type of Buhari/fashola combo of APC to that of retardeen/sambo combo of killer party. Afterall, none are saints. besides one group has been tested and currently failing while the other hasnt but has enough potentials. 2 Likes |

You said that APGA is an igbo party and that igbos will surely root for GEJ no matter how incompetent he seems. GOOD! Since APC knew all that before hand, why did they drag in APGA by all means into their merger even though it was clear Rochas came on his own account? My point is, if they truly need our votes, they should do things properly. It might shock you to know that a good number of igbos want a change but not from these desperate crooks coming together. Its ok if they feel they dont need igbos, but let them not cry "rigging" when the time comes. thank you. |

Onlytruth: Have you heard of d word, envy? Thats what summarizes all these poo posted by non-igbos here. All of u saying igbos reap where they did not so. Wat nonsense. Zik of Africa was d foremost person in d achievement of independence for Nig. N d way he got it with finesse is admired by africans and british alike. As far as d rest of the country has decided to keep igbos down, so will nigeria be backward. Cos, u have to descend low to keep a fellow down. To the yorubas, d north will keep being over u. Jus as obj didnt do anything for u guys but kept favouring northerners, where else will your saviour come from? Buhari? U only back igbos to impress d northerners, keep doing so,wat happened to awolowo will visit una too. Again, that igbos bliv in individuality doesnt mean dey are enemies. No single region is politically united in naija. So,scrap dat igbos are not united rubbish. |

Paschal007: The apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndi’gbo, has told the newly formed All Progressives Congress that it will only support a political party that picks its presidential candidate from the South-East geopolitical zone. It is time for our so called elder statesmen to speak for themselves and tell us where their prior deals have taken us as a nation. These same zealots got us in this mess it is time to think with our mind and not be political heards/flock driven by sentiments. If the next president is from any tribe or region in Nigeria and you can travel our roads without starring death in the eye, go to university with some hope for a future job or atmosphere to get a loan to start a business, enjoy an evening out without fear of armed robbers---- will you complain about governance ??. here they are again but they did not speak for you when corpses flooded your river, your hands chopped off for stealing a goat but rather they pay a "fine" for looting billions. This heard mentality and unequal adjudication of justice must stop !! Let us engage our mind in next election. For those who say 4yrs is not enough time to right the wrong of prior administration , then ask how long it took to find Ex Gov Ibori to plead guilty to financial crimes for which he was acquitted in Nigeria. The same "elder statesmen" did not lead a rally for justice or clean the rot in our judiciary. So they have failed the test, it is time to chart a new course, led by the youths of today and leaders of tomorrow not by tired old men driven by greed but hiding in their usual cloak of deceit!!! I can't help to notice the statement from our Senate president, Mr David Mark asking more from fellow Nigerians, to let this win be a rallying point for peace/unity in the country. The irony is we have patriotic youths, bringing accolades and respect to our beloveth country, in the league of nations but have leaders who are unpatriotic !!! we have youths who placed Nigeria first and leaders who take pride in putting Nigeria last.--- ala their health care and personal investments overseas. Mr President and Senate president, the youths of Nigeria are disillusioned due to the massive corruption and mismanagement of the Nigerian Elite/poticians. A country where looting of treasury and mismanagement of govt fund is the order of the day. The youths do not feel any part of ownership in their country, they do not feel they have a stake in it for them, hence the Mayheim unleashed in the Niger Delta & Northern Nigeria. The rampant robbery, kidnappings, cultism and the spike in crime rate has direct correlation with the total disregard for rule of law by the political elite and it trickles down to every facet of our society as a nation. Remember a society is defined by what it values. Our politicians are buying up the world overseas (private jets, mansions, healthcare, comfort) and come home to the squalor and abject poverty that abound and feel no sense of duty to this great country. They ask you and I to be patriotic but I say lead by example because the level of hypocrisy by the political class is blurring the definition of a true Nigerian and changing our values, undermined the tireless effort of our founding fathers for a " one Nigeria" with charted course to first class and not third world nation . So I ask our leaders to lead by example . So Mr President, Senate President enact the laws that puts our country back on track. Take the torch from our young talented , courageous players and lets us march in solidarity from North to South, East to west and restore the respect that is due this nation and secure our future as a country. So let our leaders not ask more from us, let them show us how patriotic they are in the cause. Let them trim govt and stop the looting and fight corruption. Enact laws that promote business, create jobs and a legal system that treats us all as equal under the law. On this note I say Long Live Nigeria !!!! |

Demdem: Well Goodluck to you on that. Despite not living in Nigeria, I have family members in Nigeria and I for one would want them to go to school without them resulting to criminal activities just to pay school fees. I for one would want a politician that would give an alternative to some people before destroying their means of livelihood. I for one would want a politicians that is going to improve the lives of both the poor and the rich, not just the rich. I for one would want a politician that would hold up his part of the deal rather than refusing to pay a very big part of a nation's economy (i.e: doctors). I for one would want a president that would not tax the sh1t out of my people and only show roads works instead of jobs despite all the taxes they collected. I for one would want a politician that will actually listen to his critics or those questioning his corruption rather than him trying to diverge attention away from himself and towards the "killer party". I for one would want a president that would show me the truth about my country, not sugar coat it online, give false impression and when an american musicians decide to show the world what that nation looks like, provides the opposite of what I'm being showed online on a forum. When I do get there to visit, face-palming myself, out of the deceit I received online about the damn place. I for one would want a politician that is honest. I for one would want a politician that isn't so desperate for power that he will ignore a terrorist group fighting for him just so he can disgrace the man that won over him. GEJ might not give me all this but Buhari/Fashola will definitely not give me any of this. Anyway goodluck with your vote and goodluck to everyone else that chose the opposite or similar with your vote. |

^^^^ Even with the above Buhari/fashola is still a better choice. An insincere, dumb and focusless leader whose friends in government includes killers the likes of Tompolo, Ateke etc Liars like Abati, okupe etc subsidy thieves like Wogu, stella etc is a turn-off for me. Above all, the killer party must be booted out. wont even bother to start listing their atrocities. Goodluck to u. |

Demdem: ^^^^ Buhari/Fashola ticket is a good one no doubt, but still Igbos would find it very difficult to give them their votes against someone who is trying to integrate them into the political mainstream of this country. We have had it rough with Fulani/Hausa/Yoruba leadership in the past, so what makes you think we can trust these ones? What APC need to do is show Igbos that they have their interest at heart and that they would be given EQUAL opportunity to excel in all fields of life in this country! |

slimghost: Abegii, free me with ur igbo cause. Let the Igbos do whatever they want to do (vote the retardeen) and leave the rest of Nigeria to do whatever they want to do. The rest of Nigeria has no issues with such (muslim/muslim) but the Igbos has, so because of that u expect us to jettison it even if we are much convinced that this is the best alternative for now. APC has no obligation to Igbos but to Nigeria first, his loyals second and igbos. Igbos will not be given any preferential treatment not even in an arrangement they intend dismantling with their support for the retardeen and his killer goons. 1 Like |

peckhamboi: Igbos are really a pitiable lot, it is obvious they don't have what it takes to rule the country, obviuosly from the state of underdevelopment and insecurity in biafra, coupled with inability of igbos to build a meaningful party of opposition right from independence that igbos have no agenda except that of grabbing power. Please can you kindly allow this pathetic and confused people have their biafra so that your Nigeria will be without pathetic and confused tribe? If igbos are holding nigerians down, how come Nigeria wants them in their country? Northerners wished Nigeria well with boko haram, Mandela ruled for five years and south Africa was transformed. Late ATTAH Mills of Ghana ruled for three years plus and Ghana is in the right direction. Please tell us what we achieved after 38 years of northern leadership? What did we achieve after Obasanjo's eight years? Your post have proved igbos right that we are not one and we can never be. What we should be talking is a credible candidate irrespective of the section or tribe he or she comes from. |

There is no need for all this toxic enmity displayed here. The bottom line is that politics remain about permanent interests. This is why those who don't understand this are killing themselves in the street over ethnic/political differences while David Mark is hosting banquets for ACN Senators in the USA while they all enjoy stupendous opulence provided by our commonwealth. Folks should inspect what Ohanaeze have said again: The apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndi’gbo, has told the newly formed All Progressives Congress that it will only support a political party that picks its presidential candidate from the South-East geopolitical zone. It is a conditional statement asking APC to come and negotiate. While sentiments and emotions dominate the armoury of those doomed to fail, I think winners like Tinubu pragmatically will be thinking of ways to acommodate Ohanaeze if possible. It is not about summarily acceding to their demands or dismissing it outrightly. It is about meeting with them to see if common grounds can be forged. Some people have elections to win while most, from talks here, have ethnic battles to fight. Most of the influential guys in the APC won't be in the latter category. 3 Likes |

One_Naira: YOU ARE INDEED NOT IN TOUCH WITH NIGERIA. YOU ONLY LIVE ON "MY UNCLE TOLD ME". A CHANGE IS IMMINENT. BUT IGBOS HAS ALL RIGHT ON EARTH TO SUPPORT AZIKIWE FOR 2ND TERM. APC WAS NOT OCHESTRATED BY NDI-IGBOS, SO THEY CAN'T DICTATE WHAT POSITION THEY GET FROM IT. HOWEVER, APC WILL SIT TOGETHER AND FASHION OUT WHAT IS BEST FOR THEM. NOTE THAT, NO UNIVERSITY IN THE WHOLE WORLD WILL ALLOW A STUDENT TO CONTINUE A 4-YEAR COURSE AFTER 14 YEARS OF GAINING ADMISSION. THAT IS PDP. |

Olaolufred: No I actually go by the articles posted on this website as well as "my uncle told me" and what my own eyes saw this December when I visited. That is what I go by. Go and reread every single Igbo person post on this thread. Did any of us disagree that a change is needed? No. A change is needed but what use is it to remove a crook (PDP, only to add in another crook (ACP). Only in Nigeria does that make sense. |

Re: Ohanaeze To APC - Field Igbo Presidential Candidate, by OneNaira6: 11:07am On Feb 11, 2013 |
I actually just read this article, did anyone read this article at all. I actually just read the whole. I read the first paragraph and replied. Now that I read the whole thing, Ohaneze did not ask APC to fence an Igbo candidacy to gain their vote. He wasn't even speaking directly to any political party. This is according to the article Oganah words "said the group would not restrict its lobbying to a political party, adding that presidential aspirants from the region would be encouraged to realise the Igbo presidency ambition." thus reading the article, it seems "APC sponsor an Igbo candidacy to gain our vote" is punch own interpretation of oganah words. Which from the article, it clearly shows oganah is speaking for himself, the other members of the group, clearly stated they support Johnathan. I do not think any of ya'll read the article at all or you all probably read it with tribal lenses like usual. |
