Hi samba123, it is written that one has to be born again of water and of spirit only but once. Yes the assurance is that you will have everlasting life with JESUS CHRIST who have gone before.

Are you saying that one would be doomed by not being born again of water and spirit and could you please shed more light on that, preferably with verse(s) from your bible?

I still stare in amazement at all what Nigerians come up with in defence of religion, churches. mosques and idealogies that seek to prove the other party is wrong.

I still think many people go about preaching the wrong way, if you want to win people over to your side of the divide, preach what you have in store for them and not going about scoring thorugh their revered books looking for loopholes.I tell you this, none of the two books were directly written by the finger of God, humans( in all their imperfections) were the medium so there are bound to be inconsistencies, thats why even within the two great religions of our land, there is strife.
I think by now we shold have realised the futility of trying to show iss-slam is wrong or xtianity is wrong, to all those who have been arguing, how many new people have you won to your side, i tell you this, this is one contest in which there are no 'undecideds'

I think that if we spend these energies(used spewing venoms and counter blasphemies) trying to think about how to better the lot of the next fellow, we will see a better, not more religious country.Let us think and act right, religious extremism of whatever shade is the real enemy of mankind and the main source of strife , killings and lack of development.Do you sincerely think religion has made nigeria better?the only area i agree religion helps is in the fight against HIV/AIDS where both parties unanimously agree on lifestyle.

So people, at our ages(guessing most of us are youth and young adults) we should be concerned about the societal impact of our actions.Nairaland is a lofty idea that should not be an avenue for hate messages and religious intolerance, afterall, all through times, man has constantly tried to design ways of reaching the creator, so we all agree there is one
