kunmibola: Friends kindly advise me on this.
Recently, my wife went for a job screening with our two-month old baby but the exercise was very stressful and lasted for about two days. Meanwhile, my wife was always keeping our baby with a family friend who works in the comlex and she goes at intervals to breastfeed her. On the third day, our friend was not around and I never knew my wife had consulted an Aunt of hers who lived around to come and take over while she was busy. I went to pick them up later and the Aunt told me she had fed the baby FOR THE 1ST TIME with baby food. I found it rather unsettling and shocking. We never planned on feeding the baby any other thing apart from breastmilk for 4months atleast. I was angry but I hid my anger but deep down me, I have neither forgotten nor forgiven even my wife cos she didnt sound disturbed. Guys, I am thinking of reporting this to a respected member of the family to avert any similar occurence in the future. Also, is there any medical implication on this baby? I am very disturbed!

OP, calm down. No harm will come to your baby. There are millions of women who can't breastfeed at all or can't breastfeed past a few weeks and their babies are perfectly fine. Just go back to the breast milk and the baby will still get all the benefits derived from exclusive early breast feeding.

On a serious note, do not blame your wife or hold it against her, as there was nothing she could have done to change what had happened. Maybe you guys should try expressing some breast milk for such emergencies.

@op I quite understand your point, th truth is, family members, especially those who are experienced in children, always want to take some decisions when you leave your child with them, which can be quite frustrating, A friend of mine was annoyd when she found out that her MIL fed her 4 month old baby cerelac that should be given to chldren from 7 months, the truth is, one will be annoyed when you see people deciding for you when it comes to your children, you just want to e in control.

Actually was the other way round, read the old one first, was browsing through old topics. Then later on I saw this and the name looked familiar so I checked :-)....

Op ur wife does not want 2 continue d exclusive nd knowing u wuld kick against it she planed it wit ur inlaw,it was al planed cos no mata how close to the family that inlaw is i dont think she can bottle feed ur baby without the consent of ur wife considering ur wife was closeby neither did she see any sign of ur baby being fed any formula(ur wife would have kept babybottle nd formula close) so for her to just arived wit those items,something is fishy,ur wife is jst feigning ignorance.
