Check thru d canadian website....go to press release u will see d approved listed occupations eligible 4 migration.....check if ur career choice is among those listed......then u need 2 take IELTS test....with an overall average score of 7.0 (reading 6.0, writing 6.0, speaking 6.0, listening 6.0) the original test result must accompany ur app docs.......and recently introduced foreign credentials recognition means u need 2 have ur credentials accessed by the canadian approved authorities before filling ur application.....the approved authorities are listed on their website......

Like I promised this morning to update the house on the outcome; without saying much, I was denied visa but I am yet to know the reason(s) for denial...Once I get back from my agent's office tomorrow i sure would let the house know the reason(s) for denial. @Earthgreener...I would let you know about my admission decision to UNBC so as to update your list for September. Well i wish you guys the best, though,I aint leaving the thread.

It is well and I so much admire your bravery. I pray God's grace and your favor on your next application. Just go through the reason for the denial and try to correct it for your next application.

Thank you all for your support, my dad was my sponsor with SOA of 11m ... It couldn't have been finance.
I think it should be the pre-requisite courses that my department require of me; actually my masters programme start by September and the pre-requisite by May but I must pass the pre-requisite courses with at least 75% to progress to the master programme. Am still waiting for september admission with University Northern British Columbia. "Never say die"-Duracell.I rily appreciate you guys. cool

jikings: Folks I have a one question....my bros has received an admission for a Diploma program from University of Winepeg
http://pace.uwinnipegcourses.ca/project-management-diploma-program-full-time

and he is about to apply for his study permit though he is not happy with the course and would like to switch to another one prefeerably a masters course in Alberta (though the school is delaying for the admission). Is it possible for him to obtain the study permit for the diploma program and switch to a postgraduate diploma or masters in another school without reapplying for a modified study permit?

You advise is appreciated

Updated: please see two posts down for appropriate response

ifegy:

If he does switch to another school entirely when he gets there, he will need to update his study permit, which can be done in Canada.
....U dont need to change ur study permit if u change school ...u can use same study permit with a different school as long as it is valid.....

Bro u r most definitely right. They may deny the application with their wordsadi) Not a bonafide student (ii) You did not convince me that you will return to your home country after your studies in Canada.
I had a similar experience in 2007 when I got admission to UManitoba. The admission letter arrived lately, which made me to call for new start date letter to file my visa application, but the new letter gave a conditional admission, which I did not bother to check so I believed the start date will only be the different thing on the letter. I think the issuer of my first letter was on Holiday then. To cut d long story short. I was denied for the 2 reasons above. I used a sponsor then with balance of abt 70M in his acct.
So Bro,pls get straight admission without any condition, and fire again. I wish u success in ur 2nd attempt.
ciao

I have read so many posts here but none of it has been able to address my case.I ve gotten admission to study in a canadian college.Though it is an associate degree with the option of transfering to university to complete the remaining 2 years in order to earn a degree in information technology.I will be in my early thirties when the admission will come to play.I have been working in an computer environment for the past 8 years.what are my chances?what type of documents do i need 2 submit for visa interview?what other suggestions can you help me with? thanks.NOTE- I have recieved d admission letter and i was asked to pay confirmation fee which will later be deducted from the school fees

Me too. I paid #15k

Currently out of the country till next week. I am thinking of going to lagos to submit personally to avoid case of being returned for one reason or the other as I am out of time.

Just got admitted to St. Mary's University (Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation). My admission letter was dispatched to Naija on Monday via courier so I cancelled my Humber PGD admission.

I hope they will not say it is late to apply as program start date is September 4

Hey, I am heading to St Mary's as well, lets hook up. I have applied for my Visa, still waiting on embassy
