2. Easy to wash unlike concrete if u wash, it can lead to u repairing it.
3. It is movable. It can be move from one place to another unlike concrete which cannot.

mike58: Hello good people, I just stocked my earthened pond wif 1500 fishes for 2weeks nw d water is green and much trace of oil on the surface is it safe. I feed dem with aqua feed is it a good feed ?? Awaiting ur reply soon tenks?

For me, i change the water using flow-through method till the water is lighter in colour and the smell has gone. The odour of d water is a good indicator of state of pond water. Even d fishes get happier when there is fresh water.

I washed my concrete pond and since then it has not been holding water.

Use salt to fertilize ur pond. Try and be using water pumping machine to pump out water at least every 2 weeks, it will make them stay healthy and eat very well. Before 2 weeks that u will change their water, try to pump fresh water from the well on them once in a while at least every 3 days. It will aid them to swim very well, eat very well and grow very well. Make sure the pond have outlet that the polluted water will pass through when pumping in fresh water.

Hello good people, I am very much impressed by what I have seen so far on this thread, the info dashed out on this thread is priceless..

We have really made this thread a success by saving peoples investment from collapse.. I constantly receive mails from individuals,home and abroad thanking me for putting up the thread with its priceless info..

I also receive another set of mails from april till date from 43 different farmers excluding the ones from my training who have experience HUGE losses from lack of info on fish farming.. And I feel their pains because I have been in their shoes sometimes past when I was making losses too.. But I thank God they have retraced their steps by following advices from experts on this thread..

Let me say it is a TABOO for any fish farmer following this thread to make a loss with all this info being given out on this thread.. If you have read the thread from the first page till date then there is absolutely no reason for u to make a loss..

Knowledge is infinite, I still learn a lot from this thread and I marvel at how much I have learnt from april till date.. I employ fish farmers to step up, we have all it takes to succeed, there is no room for excuses..

I want specially thank the experts who have contributed in helping people with valid info, u guys have really changed investments from crashing.. In addition to what Abx1 one contributed earlier,if u are using an earthen pond,its not all anout you just getting abokis to dig as if its a soak away,u must make sure a that a specialist is involved.To avoid the problem of having to use a pumping machine make sure your pond is constructed in a way that d whole water can be drained in a matter of 2 hrs max without d use of a pump.

That is d problem i tryin to solve nw d man whom i consulted said i would use pumping machine to drain wc am now thinking might deplete d little resourses i av left. D pond has been constructed any way i can stil use pipe to drain?

since it has already been constructed,you can go ahead with using pumping machine,you cn rent one if u dnt have the resources to buy one.

My brother there is no cause for alarm.. I also made loss too sometimes past, but its now ur responsibility to identify where u have made an error eihter from the fingerlings u bought(runts) , your management techniques and your feeding formular and regimes..

U have to stand up tall now and start right from the scratch, we are all here to assist one another.. Just get back to the drawing board and analyse where u got it wrong and make no room for further mistakes.. With all the numerous info on this thread you are good to make a bumper harvest..

in as much i feel u-it is important to note that it fail doesnt make u a failure,it is when u run away or stand there that shows u have quit.when u are thru wit d worry, bring d detail from d beginning & lets do analysis together,u shall recover all
