bros856: Make them marry ooooo! they are not carrying any of those awards to anyway at old age. Family first.

Not everyone buys the idea of marriage.
However, she seem to be happily married to an acheiver in the person of Professor PN Okeke. (You know the book PN Okeke?)

Brilliant stuff! It's always a good thing whenever I see home-based academics getting recognized for their research. It goes to show that with the right environment, the sky can only be their stepping stone. The saying "What a man can do, a woman can do even better" is apt on this occasion.

Kudos to both ladies.

This is her passion. She has passion for science. Am tired of hearing only male names in science, women should emulate prof. Soon we will be stating Cynthia's law of combining ions Or Vivian's law of static neutrons...

nwabobo: Why is it that whenever quota system is not used, people from one particular region seem to excel? Especially with international organisations where there is no ojoro or man know man as is commonly practised in Nigeria.

Congrats Prof. Okeke and Nwaichi.

Just my personal observation though.

U don't need to explain to us how daft and clueless u are. She is referred to as NIGERIAN they don't give a damn about what region she comes from. U are just too daft must you display your stupidity all the time?? HABA!!! shocked angry angry undecided

^^^Doesn't have to be an english name though; we could have Nkechis' Law or Iyabos' Law.....it's not beyond the realms of possibility. wink

Really inspiring. This goes to
show that we cannot keep using
the lack of cutting edge
equipment in our labs as an
excuse not to conduct ground
breaking research. Please
tribalists, keep of this topic. They are Nigerians after all.

Congrats to them!

but i'm wary of the L'Oreal company.
L'Oreal helping to support environmental pollution research is akin to a tobacco company (like Marlboro) helping to "support" lung cancer research. All these companies somehow find a way to sponsor and influence academic research that is supposed to be independent, objective and free of bias.
