At intervals, Airtel will flash a message 'your PAYU data is 0.00NGN' on my phone screen, showing that there is no extra charge incurred by the tethering. I didn't browse youtube all these while.
However, today as i was checking out some clips on youtube, still using my tethered lappy, a message flashed on my phone screen showing 'your PAYU data is 1,630.0NGN' and i was alarmed, altogether i discovered that almost 4,000 has been added to my phone bill for watching a couple of clips that are not up to 15mins altogether.
Meanwhile, i do watch youtube clips on the phone directly all the time without incurring any extra charge outside BES.
For other Network users that use wifi hotspot on their BB to browse on the laptop, do you get charged extra fees when you watch youtube clips.

I've been watching tons of youtube clips on the same BES directly on the phone without extra charge.

Unlike other service providers , Airtel doesn't charge outside data plan for viewing youtube videos... this I know for sure.

I use my Airtel BIS to browse on my laptop and of course, stream youtube videos at no extra cost. But mine is a direct connection using BB Desktop Software, not wifi.

Not true because, I remembered when Glo BB plans were working on non BB devices and streaming Youtube with 0.00 naira on my account.

Well, I have never been charged for it. I normally don't live a dime on my account after subscribing to their BB plans on my Android phone. I tether successfully though I have not try the YouTube thing (I will do so now)

Just go to the Phone network options and switch on the hotspot (must be OS 7.0), then put on your laptop wireless connection and pick the signal.

You must av exhausted your 1gig before its expiry date and thus been charged on PAYU. Send 'deactivate' as sms to 440.

Well, i've hit my monthly limit of 15k, so there is no money for them to siphon again.
I'll wait till next month to renew my subscription and see what happens.
