Very good! This is the best thing to happen to Nigeria since her creation. It's high time we dissociate from those Western vultures who call themselves G-8. Lets learn to stand on our own and attain a measure of self-sufficiency. Nigerian problems require Nigerian solutions, not world leaders' lip service and the subterfuge that is the international system. |

Some People need to grow up. I don't always support this man's policies but i wonder why everyone looks for an opportunity to swing cheap shots at this man. He has good intentions for the Country, Shagari's government was 10000 times worse, in fact Nigeria's Economic degradation started from that Period. Give this man a Break abeg. |

it is the greatest achievement jonathan would have done if this news is true. it is embarrassing and a shame for anyone to sit in the midst of war criminals of the G8,like Obama and Cameron, and their predecessors. there is no honor in hypocrisy when you're licking the a$$ of western leaders who are number one in committing crimes against humanity. Obama is sending drones into Pakistan, yemen and Afghanistan which continue to kill innocent civilians. Obama attacked Libya and deposed its leader, while his secretary of state (Hilary Clinton) was jubilating live on tv upon hearing the news that an head of state (qaddafi) was killed by Wahhabi/salafist militants and rebels. Obama and other western leaders are sending in weapons and alqaeda Wahhabi/salafist terrorists into Syria to overthrow the regime of bashar al-assad,who is pro-iran and anti-Israel.over 70,000 Syrians have died in this civil war sponsored by the west. if the G8 has any honor and an atom weight of humanity and anyone who attends it does, then Obama should be the first man to be banned from attending. where is the conscience of people? 2 Likes |

I probably would have believed there is a real concern and intent coming from the G8 leaders if they actually replicated the same behavior when OBJ did odi and zaki biam attacks and during Abacha and co ruling. All this politicians dined and wined with them during their era of ruling. They disregarded during their rule, the politicians were evil personified to the people. hmmmm G8 leaders contradicting their usual behavior, I see something a miss. I'm becoming suspicious. There is a motive. For the past few months, USA seem invested in what's transcribing in Nigeria. Based on their past experience, when that country becomes invested in a nation beside there own, especially a third world country, it is for a reason and it's never positive. Hmm. I'm watching carefully, I see a scheme in the horizon. Nigeria might be the next Iraq and Afghan invasion. 1 Like |

Their plans shall fail. Jonathan 2015. Jonathan did not ask JTF to kill civilians neither did Jonathan create corruption in Nigeria. He is only weak to fight it. |

okpara ugo: Their plans shall fail. Jonathan 2015. Jonathan did not ask JTF to kill civilians neither did Jonathan create corruption in Nigeria. He is only weak to fight it. Then he shuld shed the title of commander-in-chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Nigerians are not looking for or have any biz with those tht created corruption in naija. What thy sincerely want is the president who can curb the menace and GEJ is obviously not tht president. |

Is it not unfortunate that the same person that attributes all failures to GEJ does not even do his own homework well? Imagine coming online, reading a story and not using just a few more bytes to verify a story before making some 'less than intelligent' comments. The G8 can never be a 'birthright of any African country and i even consider an invitation as if it is to come and witness the slaughter. If you could read the works of Walter Rodney and the likes and consider the Objectives of the G8, you could only see a gathering of countries determined to remain the only 'cocks that crow' and making sure others beg for the crumbs which they will usually give as AIDS. I hope some will begin to see what I mean. But why must we even think that 'the grass on our neighbour's field' is greener? |

Re: World Leaders May Ban Jonathan From G8 Summit by Ilekokonit: 11:54pm On May 04, 2013 |
outrage Iron sharpeneth iron but its sad to admit that Jonathan can not be classified as "Excellent" in management speak and instead of indirectly embarassing himself and the Nation at these foreign summits, he should stay at home and secretly get a trusted aide to school him and bring his education up to scratch so that he will not have to avoid the scrutiny of the Presidential election debate in 2015 like he did in 2011.
