I knw both cities pretty well n shuld say Jos wuld take d lead in quite some ways. If u christian, I suggest u settle in rukuba road, rock haven, rayfield, lowcost, hwolshe areas which r jst suitable places to reside in.

I am Yoruba like you. I was posted to Kaduna in 2008. I nearly resigned my appointment but thank God I did not. I have enjoyed this city. I work and live in the Northern part of the city and I will encourage you to come to Kaduna. Yoruba dominate the City. You will feel at home here. I am here with my family.

Kaduna all the way!!! Kd's where u'll have fun nd work well @ d same time. There're pools, clubs, parks nd all. Kd's also where u'll meet classy hausa guys nd girls who speak nd dress well they'll even party with u. I'd pick kd anyday anytime(I grew upthere). I've only passed through Jos, so i cant really compare but it looked far less busy than Kaduna. So if you are coming for business, Kaduna seems a better place, plus you'll get all the fun you want in places like Sabo, Kakuri and Television.

I disagree with ya. I'm in Jos. Bauchi road. Hmmmm... Yes, i can risk it some times. Angwa rogo? Boy! Still no go area for over 98.9 percent xtains.

Please don't go to lagos too if that's the case. The smell, traffic, one chance, robbery, kidnapping, ritual killing, etc going on there is second to none. Thanks to everyone that have commented sofar, I really appreciate all you peeps have said as at yesterday my mind was tilted to Jos but after reading some strong points IFO KD I'm actually having a rethink.I guess bot cities have their own share of insecurities even lagos does just that I'll have to be very picky as to where I choose to get an apartment. Thanks a lot guys havnt made up my mind yet tho but @ least now I am capable of making an informed decision thanks to you peeps.

Weather: the weather is quite nice. A mix of temprate and tropical climate most especially at the upper part of the state. You-d surely love the weather.
People: the people are nice natured, vere receptive of visitors. Most of the population are dark in complexion, except for the settlers of course. You-re looking for girls?? Come see for yourself.
Argriculture: Has arguably the most fertile land in the country. Food suff is very very cheap over here. You could even own a land for self sustainance as land is very cheap over here.
Entertainment: Jos is the capital of middle-belt and nothern entertainment as a whole. Home to many renowed naija artiste as you know. You-ll never lack a show to attend every weekend. Them bars clubs and chill out spots are countless over here. Seffans, lashom, club elim, crest, green park...to mention but a few.
Tourism: Jos is one of the most beautiful cities in nigeria. The land scape gives birthe to breath taking scenery as well as weather that-s quite similar to that of johanesburg and london(in summer/spring of course). Indeed nature was smiling wwhen jos was being created, and its effect leaves man-indigenes and visitors thrilled. A visit to assop falls or the highlands of shere hills is simply mind blowing. The wild life park and the zoo. Have you seen the animals? You may wanna hug them - well except the lions of course (LOL). I could go on and on about.
Health services: the new jos university teaching hospital is one of the best in nigeria(as stated during the good governance tour by the minister of information and minister of health. Not forgeting the renowed bingham uiniversity teaching hospital, jos (popularly known as jan kwano)
securitiy: as i said earlier, the security situation in ridiculously exerggerated and over-hyped. We the jos dwellers are even shocked by the thing we hear people say about jos. The lastime there was a serious crises here in jos was 2009(talking about the main jos town)

Hi @ op. I attended Unijos (6 years) but frequently visited KD as I had family there. Both cities are great. KD is a bit more congested but has more commerce as mentioned earlier. in both cities you need to choose where you live carefully but then 'shift' can happen anywhere. If you want a break from the Lagos kind of pace, then Jos is it. Overall, personally, I'll choose Jos.

I've been in Jos since 2002 and I'm not planning to move out. Jos is a very nice place to be. Most of d the crises u hear from d net happened outside Jos. I've not been to Kaduna so I can't compare.

Risk perception comes to play here. Many lads will be happy to work in the USA despite the country being in a high risk matrix just like boko haram locations.
People are working in Iraq ( your sincerely almost got a job there.....no dulling!) FYI.

I'll suggeest JOS anyday anytime. Skooled and stayed in Jtown for 5yrs, u jst need to know where and when not to thread in some certain location get a good accomodation in a safe and peaceful place such as rayfield, rockhaaven. And know your routes

@op,after 9 years of staying in kd,believe me i know the place like the rear of my palm. I just relocated to Lagos few weeks ago,anyway.I still visit kaduna once a month though for some unfinished bizs.I would ve given u my take on this but u ve failed to include all the necessary details about ur situation.For instance,where u employed b4 this 'juicy' job came up? Where are the company offices located in jos/kaduna? will the job entail you mostly sitting in the office or moving about?
Note:most casualties in the north crisis met their deaths while outside their particular resisdences.So where u reside may have little to do with your safety. Good luck.

In all honesty I envy the op. I live in lagos now and I'm just sick and tired of the extremely stressful life. I mean even if there is no crisis here, the stress is just enough to kill one gradually. I miss Jos so much and I'd definitely choose Kd and jos over lagos, no jokes.

The irony of it all is that all the people screaming insecurity are not residents of either cities. Go through this thread and you will find out that residents of both cities (Jos and Kd) have only pleasant things to say about their respective city of residence
