To be fair there are some parts of Lagos that look like any developed country eg VI, LEKKI, Ikeja, Ikoyi and so on but you have poor electricity no pipe borne water unless provided by individuals for themselves. The big lesson in naija is how u can individually provide public utility services for yourself eg borehole, generator/solar. But can you make roads, mass transits, parks and medical emergency service for yourself?

Westerners will do everyth to discredit nija and do all their best to distabilise it. But sure that will not stop use frm developn

Who ever rated Lagos as the 3rd worst city to live in must be out of their mind. Lagos should be on top of the list

of worst places to live in. I've passed through that hell hole a few times and everything I regret it. The roads are

horrible, the people are so rude,obnoxious, and dirty. There are baggers allover the place. And you would think a city

that size would have electricity.

My wife is from cape Coast like you and I used to have businesses in Accra, Kumasi and Tema, when I couldn't take the stupidity of Ghanaians I moved some of my investments out of Ghana, the few ones i left there now is for my wife and her family. If a country is not good for you move over.

And until the second coming of Christ I don't think any Ghanaian city will ever come close to what we currently have in VI, LEKKI, Ikeja, Ikoyi etc. And we didn't stop there. The Eko Atlantic City project is world class and can compete with other such projects around the world. Accra is a SLUM with no world class facility. The types of roads we have in Uyo cannot be found anywhere in Ghana, fact. The best parts of Accra is Osu and East Legon and these are behind Ikeja in beauty, development etc, FACT.

Most people fail to ask themselves what % of Lagos METROPOLIS does Ikoyi, VI, Lekki make up- 5, 10, 20%
They forget Mafoluku, Oshodi, Akowonjo, Ketu, Isolo, Ejigbo, Alaba, Shomolu, Ajegunle, Ijora etc where roads, primary & secondary schools, primary health care centres are quasi non existent and/or are in a terrible state.

Even the "posh" areas you have to do BYOI- Bring Your Own Infrastructure of pipeborne water, electricity, security and pay excessive rent for the value/quality of life you get in return.

It is shameful that after 14 years of the "progressive opposition" being in POWER they are yet to fix the very BASIC services in the mega city of Lagos:

As per the rankings, I don't see what temperature is doing there as a criteria. It's not like any city can do anything about it's weather conditions.

Back to topic: I hbelieve Lagos is among the worst cities to live in based on:

1)Road network: if ever you have been to ilorin Kwara state and seen the road network you will be disappointed with Ikeja's road network in Lagos.

2)Angry people- lagos is filled with a lot of those.

3) Crazy Drivers- looking for who to kill or scratch vehicles.

4)Lack of power supply - most cities in earth have more constant power supply than lagos

5)Polluted/bad water(no good water supply even borehole water comes out polluted)

6) Polluted Air- the air in Lagos is terrible, fresh clean air is a scarce commodity in Lagos.

7) Green house effect in lagos is sky rocket high compared to cities like New York, Accra etc.

Noise Pollution- from people, generator sets, loud music etc.

9)Harrassment from too many officials- fromagberos, obas, Kai, customs, police, soilders, navy etc

10) The behaviour of an average Lagosian is appalling: grown ass men bathing in public, pooing in public, fighting naked in public, being overly aggressive and demeaning over little issues etc.

11) Houses are not built with solid materials or on solid structure: incidences of collapsed houses are rampant in Lagos.

12)Lack of respect for rule of law- disposing dirt on the streets, dis obeying transport rules etc
