Nice topic, thanks for sharing. For me there are 3 kinds of anger; mild, intermediary and extreme. For mild to intermediary I confront the person when I am much less angry and in many cases I got an apology and a stop to the bone of contention or cause of anger. For extreme cases where someone angers me repeatedly and I feel my right as a Nigerian or human is being violated, I go to the police to report the case (this has only happened twice & they were really extreme cases), on that day I truly believe that ' the police is my friend' (even though I hate the general attitude of the regular Nigerian policeman/woman). In traffic, the kind of anger I feel is usually extreme and I react immediately, I yell and use not-so-polite signs. I hate to do these, but sometimes some drivers are so inconsiderate, so selfish and so impolite that at that moment I just can't help it. Best remedy? Stay calm, leave the incidence-environment and do a polite confrontation later when you are less angry (of course, this is in a case where you are dealing with an acquaintance) .

I keep quiet and ignore what or whoever is making me angry.

I always control my anger, so i dont get angry @all wch has bn detrimental cuz ppl do not undstnd dt dia action is painful & detrimental to my status, how i wsh i get angry my ex might not hv disappointed, bt now, i learn to say words dt wld b painful to d pers invlved wch dey really get annoyed @ whl i feel i'v not said anythn close to wat i was suppose to say 4d fact dt i control my anger & choose my words wisely....bt mehn, how i wish i can display bodily emotional vibrations

when i'm angry,i keep quiet for a long time with or without an earpeice stuck to my ear....used to use music till i realised it was provocative to use a headset while someone older is yapping about something and could lead into leading u to a fight...

But my greatest antidote is walking away while smiling......would talk to the other later about it though!!

that's exactly Wat I will do.. Expect the putting up a fight part, buh I won't say anyfn at that angry state cos there is a 150% chance I will regret it.

I don't get angry anymore. Why? Because i don't put myself in a situation that will make me angry. But i used to be angry back in the day and could react to very minor things.

greatgod2012: So also me, it depends on whoever im angry with, if its someone older than me, and whom i respect so much, e.g mum, elder sibling..........i keep quite, any attempt to talk may brin our tears from my eyes.

If hubby, i keep quite a while, then either write or text or mail him later to express my feelings.
If friends, i just ignore, sometimes, i hiss and walk away.

May God help us all o........anger can make one look mad, if not properlly and maturely handled.

If na hubby, I go vent for him well well. Wetin be text or write, by the time I'm through with writing, anger go don go and he wouldn't take me seriously.

cotrolling of myself is a hard nut to crake when ever i am angry.... But i try to ignor whoever is gettin me angry cuz i might regret my action later.

I remember singing jst to ease myself when my aunty was giving me tough time with her nag....we almost fought cause she was angry dat i was singing when she was talking to me.

Yes o my dear,d police realy crossed his boundary, I was in my ss3 writing my waec,the stupid police man sat beside me inside the bus I boarded going for my papers,I was wearing my uniform and he felt i was naïve n young seeing me as a secondary school girl and decided to take advantage by putting his dirty filthy hands on my breast. O my God I dint know where I got d spirit or guts from cause I gave him a dirty sounding slap right inside d bus,he was shocked n tried denying it but d bus driver actualy saw him tru his mirrow. It took my school principal to come to that scene before I left him alone o,cause I began to cry n said not untill I saw my mum before I would live him.there was so much crowd. Around shouting on d police man dressed in his uniform,he felt so shamed and began to plead but I dint have any of that as a held strongly in is shirt with both hands.


From that day henceforth I Hate police men with all my life n vowed never to have anything to do with dem or my kids. Till date even the ones as security at our gate I don't return their greetings.I have no respect for those men in black not in this life.

wen am angry,i try not to talk any attempt to do so will result to tears. God help me !

I don't really get uptight with pretty little things but when am angry I'm usually quiet and the tendency of ignoring everyone around me is high

I have since stopped working away when am angry; it used to work for me until I woke up after 16 months in Orthopedic after I broke my Tibia, Fibula, Clavicle and Ankle in a fatal car accident. I tried to avoid what would have been a very big embarrassment to my in-law. He slapped me publicly in the process of an arguement (not family related arguement), to make matters worse he is the husband to my younger sister. I left him and drove off, the remaining part of the story is 16 months with pains.

Now, no matter how hard you try to provoke me I simply smile and shake it off. I look the person straight to the face and smile.

i will just keep silent.

I become unusually quiet,don't eat and I sleep!
