Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by azubaby(f): 11:36am On May 26, 2013
Gud moni House.
Today is Trinity Sunday as Catholics so i want to know, its easy and justifiable if we say Jesus is God because of his ways n so many bible passages. Like when he said before Abraham I was and in the book of John where they said the word was made flesh and dwell among us and so many others.

But how can we say the Holy Spirit is God if He is a comforter and mediator.

Or may be am yet to find where he was directly or indirectly refered to as God in the Bible

Or may be i need to pray so that the Holy Spirit will inteprete who He is

Pls lets not comment base on what we r tot in our Churches

I wud like to learn from more spiritually interlectual people.

Thanks

The third person in d trinity. Hw will I xplain dis 2 u...He is God.u c dat Holy Spirit dat came on d day of pentecost is like another type of Christ in d spirit. He is d.Spirit of d living God.if u knw man is a three in one being, then u'll understand better. We are made after their likeness.we hav a body soul and body....so if I say d spirit of Azubaby, dat means it is also u.imagine dividin u in2 3 parts..ur body,soul,spirit.....if they nw.ask m,pointing at ur body dat who is dis? My answer will.b:Azubaby same goes 4 ur soul and spirit.it doesn't change d fact dat d three are all u....d same person...so if am chatting with ur spirit, am still chatting with u..doesn't.change.d.fact.d person am talking 2.is Azubaby.hope is nt.complicated.

The Trinity is PAGAN.

God is ONE , Jesus said so himself :

"Jesus replied, "The most important commandment is this: 'Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD." - Mark 12:29

The trinity is NOT pagan. It is the Word of God. Many pagan cultures have ideas that are contained in the Word of God. Does not invalidate God's Word. It just shows that many ideas from God circulated before the Jews wrote them down.

I must say however that the concept of Trinity is hard to comprehend by the natural mind. When you study or even read the Bible with the Holy Spirit giving you revelation, it's so easy to see the Trinity in many portions of the Bible. God takes it for granted when He's dealing with His children who have revelation, but knows it is complicated for those outside.

To the bolded, I wonder why Paul said :
"But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets." - 1 Corinthians 2:10

and why Jesus came to show us the Father :
"that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." - John 17:3

Was Jesus speaking to himself here, did he send himself, was he coming to reveal himself or his Father, can a son be his own father and vice versa.

The Trinity is a misnomer, nowhere to be found in scripture but the articles of Pagans.,

Advice : "At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike." - Matthew 11:25

Nothing you wrote above challenges my assertion that some spiritual truths are hard to comprehend by carnal minds. If anything, they confirm what I said. If you let the Holy Spirit lead your Bible study, Trinity is one of the easiest things to see in the Bible. I don't even make efforts to look for it, yet I see it often in the Bible. That Jesus is God is not a hard fact to grasp by any real christian. In the past, people like the Oneness Pentecostals challenged the concept of Trinity. But they never doubted that Jesus is God. They only argued that God functions in multiple roles. The "new" or revived notion that Jesus is not God is hardly something you see in the Body of Christ, for the simple reason that it is inconceivable to consider oneself a christian without a realization that the God we serve is Jesus Christ. That's where christianity differs from other religions that recognize a Supreme Being they call by different names. It's not about being wise and clever. It's about being yielded to the Holy Spirit.

Mate, this doctrine has been proven time and time again to be totally false, no amount of scripture twisting can change this fact.

Jesus said that father was greater him, he said it was God who worked and spoke through him, in Daniel 7 it says he ( Jesus ) was brought before the ancient of days , the clearest evidence yet that not only is Jesus a separate person from GOD , he is also subject to him.

Jesus is the Son of GOD , even SATAN attested to this.

Just because this has been the position of so called 'orthodoxy' for years, does not make it fact , the majority have almost always been on the wrong path.

...................Contradictions of trinity.............................

The basic problem is that trinitarianism is a nonbiblical doctrine that contradicts a number of biblical teachings and many specific verses of Scripture. Moreover, the doctrine contains a number of internal contradictions. Of course, the most obvious internal contradiction is how there can be three persons of God in any meaningful sense and yet there be only one God.

Below we have compiled a number of other contradictions and problems associated with trinitarianism. This list is not exhaustive but it does give an idea of how much the doctrine deviates from the Bible.

1. Did Jesus Christ have two fathers? The Father is the Father of the Son (I John 1:3), yet the child born of Mary was conceived by the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18, 20; Luke 1:35). Which one is the true father? Some trinitarians say that the Holy Ghost was merely the Father's agent in conception - a process they compare to artificial insemination!

2. How many Spirits are there? God the Father is a Spirit (John 4:24), the Lord Jesus is a Spirit (II Corinthians 3:17), and the Holy Spirit is a Spirit by definition. Yet there is one Spirit (I Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:4).

3. If Father and Son are co-equal persons, why did Jesus pray to the Father? (Matthew 11:25). Can God pray to God?

4. Similarly, how can the Son not know as much as the Father? (Matthew 24:36; Mark 13:32).

5. Similarly, how can the Son not have any power except what the Father gives Him? (John 5:19, 30; 6:38).

6. Similarly, what about other verses of Scripture indicating the inequality of the Son and the Father? (John 8:42; 14:28; I Corinthians 11:3).

7. Did "God the Son" die? The Bible says the Son died (Romans 5:10). If so, can God die? Can part of God die?

8. How can there be an eternal Son when the Bible speaks of the begotten Son, clearly indicating that the Son had a beginning? (John 3:16; Hebrews 1:5-6).

9. If the Son is eternal and existed at creation, who was His mother at that time? We know the Son was made of a woman (Galatians 4:4).

10. Did "God the Son" surrender His omnipresence while on earth? If so, how could he still be God?

Hate for the catholic church ? cheesy

How can I be forced to accept a dogma that turns logic into illogic, that contradicts the bible in almost every way, a doctrine that took hundreds of years to formulate etc.

Nay, tradition is not truth, truth is scripture and scripture rejects this myth.

No matter how much scripture you quote, they will reject the truth , some will tell you they worship the Trinity instead of the one true GOD who Jesus worshiped.

I cannot speculate on who was present at Gen1:26 , but I can confirm from Gen1:27 that God made MAN in his own image , in the singlar.

"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." - Genesis 1:27

Finally, the word became flesh means the plan and purpose of GOD from the foundation of the world, was now made manifest in the flesh.

Brother,God was referring to himself. We have eloHIM,'IM' in hebrew language is a plural of respect, not the plural of quantity.

Christians claim that Jesus was God as they quote in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,and the Word was God".This is John speaking and not Jesus. Also, the Greek word for the first occurrence of God is HOTHEOS which means "the God" or "God" with a capital "G",while the Greek word for its second occurrence is "TONTHEOS",which means "a god " or "god" with a small "g".Isn’t this dishonesty and inconsistency on the part of those christian scholars translating the Greek Bible to english?Isn’t such quotation in John 1:1 recognized by every Christian scholar of the Bible to have been written by a Jew named Philo Alexandria way before Jesus and John?Wasn’t the word "god" or "TONTHEOS" also used to refer to others as well as in II Corinthians 4:4 "(and the Devil is) the god of this world"and in Exodus 7:1 "See,I have made thee (Moses ) a god to Pharaoh"?.....Peace

But we know there is only one God and that God operates as the father son and holyspirit. The bible was clear... Is trinity in the bible? NO! but the word bible is not in the bible and it is said to be pagan also... Yes there are words that the bible is pagan that the right term or word to use is gospel

The Bible is simply a collection of scripture , written over a period by various MEN and WOMEN who were inspired by GOD. The Bible is not scripture, it is a collection of scripture into ONE book.

The Trinity is forced into scripture by deceptive translations and man made tradition.

Frosbel you still dont grasp the point. Benalvino is simply saying the word bible is not in the bible but it is used to describe the collection of scriptures into one book like you said! So same thing applies to trinity which is use to describe the divinity of father son and holy spirit.

The Egyptians have their scriptures about their sun god and afterlife teaching and guess what they call them Biblia. So the question is if genocide can be used to explain mass murder in bible and genocide is not in the bible does it make the concept FALSE teaching?

Jesus christ and the angels where there when Yahweh created the earth, as such, their where lots of spirit creatures for him to talk to.

However, the bible calls Jesus the master worker and the one through whom all things in heaven and on earth where created, so, it is safe to say it was a father and son discussion.

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist". Simple questions for you bro.
If God is one and three simultaneously, then none of the three could be the complete God.Granting that such was the case, then when Jesus was on earth, he wasn’t a complete God,nor was the "father in Heaven" a whole God.Doesn’t that contradict what Jesus always said about His God and our God in heaven, his Lord and our Lord?Does that also mean that there was no complete god then, between the claimed crucifixion and the claimed resurrection?
If God is one and three at a time, then who was the God in heaven when Jesus was on earth? Wouldn’t this contradict his many references to a God in Heaven that sent him?
If God is three and one at the same time, who was the God in Heaven within three days between the claimed crucifixion and the claimed resurrection?.....Peace

Re: Trinity: Why Is It Easier To Call Jesus God And Not The Holy Spirit by Nobody: 2:32pm On May 27, 2013
[quote author=nlMediator]Yeah, I'm amazed he doesn't seem to grasp that simple concept

A simple concept ? is this a Joke.

If it is so simple , how come it does not make sense, how come it is not backed with ample scripture.

A word does not need to be in the Bible to be Biblical.

A doctrine does.

Trinity is simply a short-hand to express an idea that is all over the Bible and tha an be easily seen by the spiritually alive.

Your opt out clause is to throw in buzz words like 'spiritually alive ' , this does not work anymore. God has either revealed a thing clearly or not, he is not in the ambiguous and vague business.

In the real sense, Trinity is not the issue. The real point is that Jesus is God.

No Jesus is not GOD.

God cannot die, God cannot be tempted, the demons and their master called JESUS Son of God , never God, God cannot beget himself , God anointed Jesus , if Jesus was GOD I wonder why , the list is endless.

(I attended a church for years in which the pastor did not believe in the trinity; as far as he believed Jesus to be God that was fine by me).

As per the bolded , it is not what is fine with you that matters, but what is factually the truth as exposed in scripture.

You only hold on to this dogma because you think the majority in Christendom must be right.

But the moment you do not think that Jesus is God, that's when you should start questionining your own christianity.

Now you have turned scripture on it's head which is a dangerous precedent when preaching truth to new believers. To believe that Jesus is GOD, while totally wrong, is no prerequisite for salvation , this is a LIE from hell.

To be saved, we need to follow the pattern in the bible.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9

"He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household." - Acts 16:31

Ur question makes no sense... There is no if God is three... There is only one God. All the miracles you know that happens... People coming back from dead, sea splitting and many more yet you think God doesn't have a plan? Bible made it clear that God manifest in flesh.
