Going to buy my F7/A+ 2mr although i know it is overpriced compared to some other Chinese brands but... the devil you know is better than the one you dont..Gionee and co...

if una like make una complain about OTA updates, na una know.. go to tecno n3 thread.. dem dey mod am dey run ICS 4.0.. Make una siddon dey here dey complain.. they complained about dual core processor being outdated.. they changed it to QuadCore.. they complained about 4.1, they changed it to 4.2 (although they shld be OTA updates for the first F7, but heck! the phone still runs smooth without 4.2.JB)
.. benchmark scores sef go up.. sm haters wl still complain..
chei! you can never satisfy everyone though.. if Tecno can improve to this stage from the N3 i bought in February, they will surely do better in the nearest future...

Old chipset, OTA maybe screen protection na d things wey ppl go use again. I saw samsung grand duos & to be candid i love it, though, dem no dey d same category cos samsung has bn a known brand way back but stil got d phantom A+ & money was neva d issue since it's just a diff of 10k.

NOTE: the A is not in circulation again. I guess it's because of d hardware defects which cannot b fixed OTA.

Rolling out of updates doesn’t lead to new phone sales, some carriers don’t offer updates in any reasonable amount of
time, or sometimes not at all.So i'm not sure Tecno will release any update,Samsung does release as they like because they already have large markets,but still won't release as customers want as you know some model were stocked at a certain firmware,so we must find custom roms for our Tecno device.

I don't hate Tecno, infact I love them for opening our eyes and giving us cheaper alternatives. But they need to keep our eyes open!

But as a Nigerian, I have seen that people needs people to push them to improve. The reason why things are not improving in this country is that the masses always swallow whatever is thrown at us by our leaders, without say vigorously NO! THE NIGER DELTA MILLITANTS SAID NO THEY WERE MADE COMFORTABLE, BOKO HARAM SAID NO, THEY ARE BEING OFFERED AMMENSTY, BUT THE POOR JOBLESS GRADUATES ARE QUIET NO ONE WILL EVER REMEMBER THEM INSTEAD THEY WANT THEM AS POLITICAL THUGS. That's why they say we are suffering and smilling.

If Martin Luther King Jr did not say no, Obama would not have been president today. Or as someone suggested, that I should leave Tecno alone. Would you have suggested that black Americans leave American? They stayed and fought and things changed?

So my argument is lets politely make Tecno improve. If you noticed my posts is not targeted at any one other than a clarion call to make tecno give us a richer smartphone experience. SINCE THEY STARTED IT.

I don't post with bitterness. I dont attack anyone, I forsee discomfort and am trying to be proactive. If we didn't demand for all these basic features (that even smaller chinese companies are adding, and still sell for as low as $179) they will not give it to us.

I still like tecno, if not for anything for their Carl care. I come from Anambra state, alot of my people goes to China often. I can give someone fund to get phones for me. But lack of service centre is discouraging me.

So, let's make tecno sit up, that's my target or else they will end up expensive. Or if we need key lime pie, we would end up coughing out extra 60k, and it may still not have richer smartphone features, and we will still keep quiet.

I should ordinarily post this in the Android 4.3 thread, but to buttress my earlier posts on OS updates not being necessary MOST times.

I just went through the official android site for details of the 4.3 Jelly Bean OS just announced (See it here: http://www.android.com/about/jelly-bean/), and I really don't understand why I would want to update my OS if I'm currently on 4.2 for example.

Without any shred of doubt, the upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 makes a lot more sense than 4.2 to 4.3

Maybe I'm being naive. I don't have an android device and I don't know much about the OS. But on the basis of what is on this official page, then if i was a Tecno A1+ (for example, with Android 4.2) user I wouldn't be too concerned with upgrading to 4.3
