Mooregan, I agree with you that many people buy those high end devices just to show off. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Techno is not a good device, they are doing just fine. This their new phone Phantom A1 is very cool. What pisses me off is when some crazed Techno fans go on rampage on every thread in the phone section, saying that those buying high end smart phones aren't smart, that Techno can do everything those high end phones can do and even more! Of course thats a very big lie. Personally I'm happy that Techno were able to bring the Android platform to a large chunk of people in Nigeria so they too can enjoy the Android experience.

the chinese ve always had ways of manufacturing cheaper versions of expensive products. E.g a pair of nike will last longer than a chinese made replica.tecno as a brand is really giving other manufacturers sleepless nite in the race for africa's market dominance.comparin tecno to high-end phones,the differences are few but far in between.on paper,you wonder y the difference in price?but in reality,the reason for differ in price boils down to camera quaity,proccessor speed,multitask,ability to withstand heavy use and most importantly durability.
Camera quality of high end phones differ but overall all are better than tecno's.
High end phones run apps smoothly.
Miltitasking:both score same in this department.
Its still too early to differentiate both brands on durability since tecno is still a baby.
Overall,tecno is a good buy considerin fear of phone theft/loss,damage to device and performance.i use both and love them same in regardless of their strenght and weakness.

Anyday anytime, i am a Nokia freak. But i am feelin d huge magic my Tecno N3 is performin. Am on NL cos my N3 made it much possible. I apply for most jobs wit mi cheap N3. So wetin again wey I want?
I tink d problem wit most of us Nigerians is d problem of over familiarity wit a product dat we don't want to try its substitute even it may b better.
E.g, we refer to evry cookin spice as Maggi wen Maggi is only a brand name. We've Royco, etc which may b better wen cookn some dishes. But we're so used to maggi, just like we're used to Nokia.
