I hail oo good people of nairaland. Pls who else is on this any solution yet. Will really appreciate "You are required to provide proof from a competent Canadian Health Authority that formal arrangements have been made to provide payment for health services related to the birth. A letter from a family doctor will not suffice, we are requesting official documents certified by a Regional Health Authority and hospital administration that formal payment arrangements have been made." |

Thanks for this,I declared at the Poe and off they sent me to the secondary inspection, the first officer asked if I had enough funds for my medicals and I said yes, Tge second officer just asked if I had been to Canada before and I said yes for summer 2017,he checked my passport, asked where I would be staying and how I was going to get there, told him my brother inlaw was already outside waiting for me.He gave me back my passport and told me to have a lively evening, without even asking to cross check the funds. Thank God I went with your advice ,contrary to what some people were telling me not to declare my intentions at Poe. Just sharing my experience, Thanks once again.came in yesterday. 5 Likes |

Re: Giving Birth In Canada by bjoey1991: 11:47am On Nov 12, 2019 |
Plz house,I applied for childbirth on the 7th August and just got a mail from the immigration section containing this: Good day, "This refers to your application for a temporary resident visa to Canada. You are required to provide proof from a competent Canadian Health Authority that formal arrangements have been made to provide payment for health services related to the birth. A letter from a family doctor will not suffice, we are requesting official documents certified by a Regional Health Authority and hospital administration that formal payment arrangements have been made." ... Plz can anyone throw more light on this and how to go about providing what is required because I have already applied with a correspondence mail with a Canadian doc already showing their prices and all. Thanks |

bjoey1991:You have to read up as that is the norm now. Your doctor I guess is not a "Canadian Health Authority" He probably has his own private practice and charges his bills |
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by LYDIAMOND: 7:44pm On Nov 14, 2019 |
bjoey1991: That's where we @ right now. you have to try to contact a doctor that will acept you n a hospital as well. Make part payment wch is refundable. The receipt and letter from the hospital should be sent to the embassy as prove. We hope this works for us though. |

Hello My good people and thanks to @Hotstepper and others for the quick response. Today is exactly 8weeks I applied for my medical visa aside the response I got after the biometric stating that it’s has been accepted and is been processed, no other updates till now. I’m already 27weeks gone. What do I do pls? as I’m getting worried. |
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 8:26pm On Nov 15, 2019 |

Hello House, Please I urgently need an assistant because the Embassy has requested I provide proof from a competent Canadian Health Authority that formal arrangements have been made to provide payment for health services related to the birth. We are requesting official documents certified by a Regional Health Authority and administration that formal arrangements have been made. |

u r not allowed to use a midwife as an international patient...Have that in mind so it is important u find a dr and have ur baby in a hospital. Tutsy50: |
