collynzo2: Who were the players Sia Sia dropped? Instead he listened to people like you and recalled the troublesome Osaze who missed three chances that were easier to score than miss. We ended up failing to qualify and SiaSia lost his job. His failure to stick to his convictions what was cost him his job, he shouldn't have recalled Osaze against his will. Keshi will not make the same mistake.
did osaze play in d games against ethiopia(2-2) and madagascar(2-0 win 4 nig). Siasia dropped enyeama for aiyenugba and he also started at ogude as a right back against guinea where both goals came from. And osaze too played only two out of d six games played in the qualifiers

Well well well, Oliseh nailed it straight in the head. I have constantly maintained that Nigerian football is dead, as in DEAD. I know the AFCON win beclouded most people's objective reasoning. The level of that competition was simply abyssmal, that's why the amateurish unSuper Eagles could win it. I am convinced that with the ceaseless trials of unintelligent amateur players like we all watched at the CONFED cup, we ain't qualifying for any world cup. Keshi will be fired as usual and the NFF goons will make case for a foreign coach. They'll hire some elementary school soccer coach as long as he/she is white skinned, award some outrageous salary to accommodate their kickbacks....and the cycle will continue.
Oliseh spoke the truth!

If the league is dead, what does Oliseh propose should be done to improve the Nigerian squad. Coach Keshi is trying to unearth gems from the dead league while Oliseh is criticizing without solution. I bet Coach Keshi is doing the harder job.

He has been there for about two years. You can't just build a team at the snap of your fingers. Barca have been building this team for over a decade, yet Messi's injury made them look vulnerable.

Spain will find it difficult without Xavi and Iniesta.
it still doesnt change d fact that nigeria don't do well against top teams. It was dis same experiment that onigbinde did in 02 world cup when he overhauled d team dat won bronze in mali for inexperienced players

THE DUTCH ASSISTANT TO SIASIA, KALIKA MENTIONED EARLIER THAT PLAYERS IN OTHER PART OF THE WORLD ALWAYS PROVE THEMSELVES AT CLUB LEVEL AS BEEN GOOD ENOUGH TO MERIT NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION BUT THE REVERSE IS THE CASE IN NIGERIA.
HERE,PLAYER'S ARE DELIBERATELY BEEN INVITED NOW TO ENHANCE THEIR MARKET VALUE OUTSIDE NIGERIA AND THAT IS KESHI'S DOCTRINE OF REBUILDING.
HE BLOCKS ESTABLISH PLAYERS,CALL THEM NAMES AND DO SELECTION BASED ON SELFISH MOTIVES.IN A COUNTRY WHERE THINGS WORK PROPERLY KESHI WOULD HAVE BEEN SACKED FOR BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEBACLE IN BRAZIL.
HOW CAN HE DEFEND THE FRAUDULENT INVITATION OF JOSEPH AKPALA WHO IS AMODU'S BOY AT THE EXPENSE OF MIKE ENERAMO? WHAT ABOUT THE CONTINUE SIDELINING OF HARUNA LUKEMAN WHO WAS THE ENGINE ROOM OF THE MOST RECENT DREAM THAT WAS DENIED QUALIFICATION DUE TO CAF
POLITICS OF PLAYING THE FINAL QUALIFIER WHEN IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR NIGERIA TO USE HER BEST PLAYERS.
ONYEKACHI APAM,CHINEDU OBASI,IKE UCHE AND HIS BROTHER HAS PLACES IN THE TEAM BUT KESHI POLITICS OF EXCLUSION AND ADDITION OF MEDIOCRE S WILL NOT ALLOW HIM TO DO THE RIGHT THING.
MOST PEOPLE DEFENDING KESHI DO NOT REALLY KNOW HIM. KESHI WAS THE HEAD OF THE MAFIA GROUP THAT BROUGHT BAD BEHAVIOR INTO NIGERIAN FOOTBALL IN THE EIGHTIES AND HE WAS ALWAYS THIRSTY FOR BIG BONUS CASH WHICH REARED IT UGLY HEAD IN FAR AWAY NAMIBIA RECENTLY.
THE NORM IN OTHER PART OF THE WORLD IS FOR COACHES TO GO A TOURNAMENT WITH HER VERY BEST BUT KESHI WILL NEVER DO THAT BECAUSE HIS MIND IS MADE UP OF WHAT HE WANTS TO DO WITH THE NATIONAL TEAM. NOTHING LAST FOR EVER, THOSE WHO KNOWS HIM SHOULD DRAW HIS EARS
HE IS DESTROYING OTHERS WHY PROMOTING THOSE WHOM DO NOT MERIT SELECTION AND HAVE NO CLAIM TO THE NATIONAL TEAM JERSEY.

Trust a serious minded Nigerian to give to his country with no strings attached.

Quote Sunday Oliseh: As we speak, I have discussed with Mr Nduka Irabor
(Chairman of the N. Pro League) on how I can help
them through my position and know how to improve
our league standard so it can be productive again.
Who knows we might just get it back on track after
all

Sunday is very right here.

When you are doing a good job but you begin to over-stretch it on one side or the other, then it begins to turn bad. . .

He has been doing a good job with the inexperienced home based players, but testing them at the highest levels like the confederations cup or the world cup where the stakes and prestige are high is bad business for Nigeria altogether.

That's some truth you've said there.

When we say Keshi is building a team. . .let's face it. . .
Building a team with old men like Mba and Gambo? cheesy

Building a team takes a lot of time and patience. You don't say you are building a team and the next thing you are suddenly rushing them into high level confederations cup to test them. . .ofcourse expect to crash out and risk tumbling to the bottom again.

The scandals are still fresh involving Keshi and Adebayor in Togo about wanting to act as an agent for him.
You suspect that's what all these Keshi's romance with home-based players is all about. Expose them, help them secure better deals and then get some profit from them. . .and not really about building a team.

But one way or the other, his formular worked at the afcon so people are keeping quiet. And I also commend him for the good job. . .but he shouldn't push it beyond this.

thegoodjoehunt:

Let me paint a clearer picture. Martins was worse than Sambo in the qualifiers against Kenya. Ike Uche was worse than Sambo at the AFCON. So why should Coach Keshi waste his time on them. Please Coach Keshi has gotten Mikel, Musa, Echiejile, Omeruo, Oboabona and Mba playing as top professionals. Give him time and he will turn Sambo into a World class hitman Nigeria craves.

Bring Martins and Ike Uche to the confederations cup never-the-less because such level of competition is a familiar foe to them.

Cavani, Forlan and Suarez of uruguay were struggling in the south american qualifiers and friendlies and not getting the goals but they came to the Confeds and BANGED in the goals.

Neymar wasn't getting the goals during all their world tour and friendlies but came to the confeds and BANGED in the goals.

Martins may not have impressed against rough Kenya but bring him to the confeds. . .and when the stakes are high and the pressure is on, look towards your bench and bring in MARTINS and not Babatunde, gambo and the cohorts.

Trust him to bring better quality, experience and prospect to a familiar terrain.

thank u very much, hw can keshi say he's buildin a team when he continues to drop home based players the moment they secure contracts with european teams, players lyk uche kalu, rueben gabriel, oshaniwa, uzoenyi, papa idris hav all stopped gettin call ups since they moved to europe. Hw can u continue to abandon what u are building

Rueben gabriel in particular raised a lot of eye brows. He suddenly gets dropped after his move?

So if Mba moves to Turkey tomorrow and he plays below par like he did at the confeds, he gets dropped too and another 'special' home based player takes his place?

One thousand and one questions cheesy

Is that how you build a team for Nigeria?

Agent Keshi. . .you better take time o.

Noboby says you shouldn't do some little back door deals to rake in some more money. Ofcourse we understand. Even NFF owes you 5 months salary. We are not bad belle people. You have given us an AFCON, so do your 'runz' solo solo.

But next time don't mess with our prestige at the confeds or the world cup with inexperience.

Don't 'build' with our chances at the highest levels of football where every team is there with the best of their best.

Gambo and his cohorts can learn and relearn at Afcons, friendlies, qualifiers and CHAN.

One Martins in the box 18 facing the goal post at the confederations cup is better than 2 Gambos doing the same.

All these folks you have mentioned have had their chances over the years and delivered nothing. Maybe the Uche brothers, but Haruna, Apam and Obasi? Please! They were at the last World Cup and that was our worst World Cup performance. Your Lukman Haruna captained Nigeria to win the same U17 tournament that had the likes of Bayern's Toni Kroos, Man Utd's Danny Welbeck, De Gea, Rafael and Fabio, Chelsea's Eden Hazard, Villa's Benteke, even Victor Moses played for England. Now mirror his career since then against these other guys. The boy needs to up his game before he can lay claim to being an Eagles regular.

Is this not the same Lukman Nairalanders flogged tirelessly here: https://www.nairaland.com/460127/lukman-haruna-vs-mikel-obi/3

Oliseh never totally condemned Keshi's approach. He only identified a few areas where better decisions could have been made. How can you take raw talents who have hardly been tested in the national colours to the CONFEDS? How many games had the likes of Gambo, Akpala and Babatunde played for the SE before the tournament? I agree with Oliseh that in the absence of the first choice players, the more experienced players like Martins and Osaze should have been invited giving time to the Gambos to fully develop their talents step by step. I suggest they go through CHAN, grade B friendlies, grade A friendlies and the AFCON before any FIFA organised tournament. Else, the same people who are blindly defending him (Keshi) now would call for his head when we fail to qualify for the world cup.

what did we achieve when we were playing the likes of Osaze and Martins? How can you invite Osaze who hasn't played any match since January? Did you watch Martins running like a headless chicken against Kenya in March? He should even invite Yakubu and Kaita. You wrote so much, but made no sense at all. SMH

If I may ask, what exactly is the job of a manager? Does it include helping players rediscover lost form? Rafa Benitez got to Chelsea and to some extent, helped Torres in getting back on track. Jose Mourinho stuck with Drogba when he was misfiring in his early days at Chelsea. Injuries kept Van Persie away from football for so long but Wenger never gave up on him. Cavani, Suarez, Forlan and even Neymer were all underperforming before the CONFEDS. This isn't a case of Keshi being a bad coach. It is case of accepting corrections and avoiding silly mistakes. i think Oliseh makes valid points which may be applicable generally but not in this case. like i keep saying its kinda funny but all this noise is really just about two players: Peter Odemwingie and Gambo Mohammed. if the issues concerning these two had never come up then there would be no argument over home based or foreign based players.

my own concern is that there are certain stars this team is built around and if they get injured its wahala. we hve already seen that with moses and emenike. now ask yourself; what happens if Mikel gets injured? who will replace him? sunday Mba?? its funny cuz i really like Mba but the very thing i have been afraid of has happened. becasue he score a couple of critical goals everyone is suddenly overrating him...Sunday Mba does not have the quality to play in europes top leagues. at best belgium/holland is his level. i hate to be the one to say it but its just the ugly truth. you cannot compare Sundya Mba to Haruna Lukman... never! even though the world cup team he played in was poor, he was still one of the shining stars of that team. i'd really love to see him back in the team along with the likes of reuben gabriel and joel obi. Oliseh should 1st remember that he may have been nowhere in football without Keshi so biting the finger that fed you is never helpful trust me.
Yes Oliseh may have some points in what he has said but does he think he has done it the right way? 1st replying to a comment made by Keshi with a 2-paged rant on the media was done in good faith as you claim abi?
Please Oliseh could you answer the questions you raised in your comments and dont beat around the bush
1. who and where are the over flocked home based players in the super eagles?
2.Can you claim you knew who Sunday Mba was before the AFCON?
3.Do you think selection should be based on where you ply your trade rather than performance?
4.Do you disagree that the players that let us down where Foreign based players?
Oga abeg park well. the story of you not wanting Keshi's Job cos you have been appointed to FIFA is fallacy cos you can occupy both positions as well under FIFA rules.
We all agreed during the AFCON that the SE team was a team under transition and you did mention that it will take time to build so why do you expect them to conquer the world in less than one year.
One thing we must all learn is how to mange our expectations. Would you rather we won the COnfed cup and not qualify for the world cup?. Lets us please give Keshi time and he will deliver

well this is the nigerian national team...all those fellas are always gonna have egos but Keshi has proven he is the boss and has gained his respect. all them players with egoes who missd out on the nations cup victory will be on their knees begging to get back in the squad. i think we can still do well without em but with all our top quality players around and playing the kind of football we've been playing we're easily gonna be one of the top ten teams in the world cup.

You haven't made any sense, we are talking about players who have played for Nigeria for 10 years with nothing to show for it and you are giving me examples of players in their clubs. Your example with Neymar is a big lie and Forlan still underperformed at the confed, he's an old man anyway.
