Lexus is a luxury ride, no expenses is spared when it comes to fuel economy, don't know much about the other cars u listed, but when it comes to lexus, forget fuel economy.

If your friend is a 1st time car owner, let him stay away from the Benz or any force induction car.
If his concerns are fuel economy, then he should go for the Camry.
But if he wants reliability with luxury, then Lexus would be his best bet from the list.

It has a 3.3l displacement engine which knows nothing about fuel economy.

What's your definition of performance?
Because at the end Corolla might just be his best bet as its more fuel efficient and reliable than all the cars on your list.
But if I must choose one of the 2 on that list I'll choose the Camry

Yaris is a good car.

Yaris is a good car with relatively small engine and light weigh body, so fuel consumption is great.

It's a Toyota, so expect the parts to be everywhere.

As for the year, your budget would decide that.

What can be the reason a 04 honda accord (EOD) have a very bad fuel economy, the car literally sucks fuel.
I took it to a mechanic who specializes in Honda cars over here, he told me I should replace the injectors, but I don't believe that's the cause. So I told him to clean the Injector, which he did, and there was no improvement whatsoever. That further convinces me that it isn't the injector, coz if it was, there should have been a slight improvement when the injector was cleaned.

Meanwhile, he checked the air filter, he checked the 02 sensor and says they are okay.

I believe if ur Injectors where dirty it will restrict fuel rather than let too much fuel fru lol
what is your Engine capacity? ie how many cylinder/ plugs??
