It is just a pity that Nigeria is gradually becoming a country of hypocrites and senseless religionist. We can no longer filter the difference between common sense and religion anymore. Anyway they say “Common sense is not common”. We hide under books to commit atrocities, heinous crimes yet we claim the holy book supports it. We tend to interpret the books in the way that favours us. Oh! The system is been taken over by pedophiles (Femi Falana, 2013). The nation is been consumed by senseless politicians of all times! I pity the younger generations!!! They are in a deep mess!!! Nigerians can no longer think straight all in the name of religion. We can’t differentiate education, politics, religion etc anymore. A Yoruba adage says “If you don’t know where you are going, remember where you are coming from” that is the spirit we need now. All this acts and attitudes will take us nowhere except destruction.
In the end, an educated person would proclaim difference between early and child marriage and you say Nigeria is ok. I am not concerned if it is practiced before or not… All I know is not everything that exists in the past that is right. Can we remember Mary Slessor stopped the killing of twins in Nigeria? Does it make it justified because it was done in the past? Never!!! It is an abomination, wrong, unrealistic, abnormal to give out a teenager in the name of marriage. It jeopardizes their future, affects their health, mental and psychological states forever.
We have a problem of tribalism that is yet to be resolved now same sex marriage and child marriage has just been added to the list.
“We don’t need religion, we need God”
“We don’t need books, we need Love”
Love is the foundation of the world. Do you eat based on books? Do you eat according to the books? Why do you have to worship God through books and turn your head upside down? Religion has failed us only God would never fail us. Seek his divine knowledge and life would be worth living. The earlier we realize books are nothing but confusion, the better for us as a nation. The day we lost our culture, we lost everything. It is better we retrace our steps and go back to our roots. Our colonial mentality would take us nowhere. Preach love and unity instead of religion and books. We are all created by God, we are one. Let us stand up against this madness that is slowly engulfing the nation. Let us learn to formulate our policies/laws based on love and sincerity of purpose. We need to grow and stand up against immorality. This bunch of hypocrites called SENATORS cannot help us get anywhere; they have proven to be a shadow of themselves. Let them tender their resignation and apology, they are not fit to rule us again!!! When animals are allowed to rule humans, they tend to force their animalistic act on humans. Let us take the chance to separate the sheep’s from the goats…dove from the culture. We need to hijack our political system from these RELIGIONISTS that portray themselves as politicians. And to my fellow Nigerians, let us stop being a bunch of useless religionist and racist. I path with this song:

LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Let there be love shared amongst us,
Let there be love in our hearts,
Let now your love fill this nation,
Cause us O Lord to arise,
Give us a fresh understanding,
Of brotherly love that is real,
Let there be love shared amongst us,
Let there be love.
It is the only key to our continued existence as a nation. Thank You.

Nice write up. Politicians hide under the cloak of religion to perpetuate themselves in office and continue the plundering of the people, yet my people are ready to die for people who don't give a hoot if they exist.

State and religion should be institutionally separated
