payless: Even in the US, we have governors and and senators who criticize and lambast Obama all the time without Obama trying to persecute them. Obama is the head of Democratic Party and members of his party disagree with him on a lot of issues. Yet, Obama has no right or power to hound them around like Jonathan and his aides doing. Amaechi is being pushed around by Patience and Jonathan but Amaechi won't have any of it. That is the beauty of democracy.stop comparing usa with nigeria , bros , we are talking African politics here , it is a different ball game entirely from all that usa or uk politics . 2 Likes |

df2006: most of you here fail to understand dat patience, was in rivers state politics even before Gej became a deputy Gov, like amaechi said she is a stake holder in rivers state, but to you all she's a house wife, ask rivers state indigenes, no be today she don dey politics for rivers. even before when amaechi was an ordinary personal assistant. If you have nothing to say, just shaaaaat up.Does it mean bcus she has being in politice for so long, that now eventually make her more powerful than an elected state governor? People like you, unmmmmh! |

texaco1:Nigeria and US practice federal system of government; where separation of power is respected and state autonomy is also respected. Nigeria and US constitution are virtually the same. The drafting committee led by Bola Ige who drafted the Nigerian Constitution wouldn't be happy with lawlessness of this President when it comes to respect of state autonomy. Amaechi should be allowed to serve as Governor without interference from Jonathan or his wife. 1 Like |

kaeto: True! The yorubas are working hard against GEJ, using every necessary tool to bring him down and amaechi is the tool they are using now. Be that as it may, i expect my yoruba brothers who are hier to noise making ancestors to always remember they have not made any president in Nigeria before and that whoever they support loses. MKO's case was different, all the regions made him. I mean look at all the people the yorubas supported in times past, they all failed. From awolowo, olu falaye, buhari in 2003, atiku in 2007, nuhu ribadu in 2011. The list is endless. They make good threats as well as political losers. Tinubu also knows he can't father an arrogant son like amaechi so why the hypocrisy? Its a pity amaechi's hands are not clean, with multi billion dollar refinery in ghana, investments littered all over the world, me think his wealth fuels his arrogance.and wots ur own concerning yoruba's based on whom they supports? |

yang: The problem is that Amechi has no respect for the office of the president and Commander in Chief of the Federal Republic.Look at you, does Jonathan wife an unelected woman has a right to pokenose in river state givernment affairs? Does she have any respect to the office of the governor? It is only in nigeria that people like you think that the president is God on earth, and that any argument with the president amount to disrespect. If i may ask you,in what regard does the pdp and jonathan deserves ameachi's respect and royalty? Was it not this same pdp that sideline ameachi after winning primary election in 2007? Ameachi as a democrat, engaged legal means to gain his mandate back,it was not tukur, patient or Jonathan that brought him back,it was a competent court of law,so you cowards here can see that ameachi's problems with the pdp has started snce he made up his mind to be a governor. |

People like you, unmmmmh!you fail to understand what message that guy is trying to get across...... Inother words, PEJ deserves some respect once it comes to rivers politics. Her use, choice and command of the english language not withstanding PEJ has got structures even men who sees her as their jesus. Even Amachi understands she has a stack in Rivers politics. To just dismiss PEJ as a mere housewife is a disrespect on a hussling hardworking Amazon as PEJ. She was the one who introduced a gentle goodman GEJ into politics. Now how would you expect her to react when all you guys do is make a mockry of Mr President.....her husband. Ask yourself why this woman is reacting this way? 2 Likes |

texaco1:There is freedom of association. He has the right to stay in PDP even if he disagrees with the president. The president is not a king. Democracy is about disagreement and working out differences. Amaechi was elected under PDP and has the right to be where he is. Some of you don't know the difference between respect and fear. Amaechi respects the president but doesn't fear the president. Why should he fear the president? You want him to fear the president like a king. |

texaco1: Can you define African politics? Please desist from deception! You should know what affects you. And you should be ready to contribute positively to it. I don't know which level you stopped your education, but there's what is called constructive criticism, and this brings out the best in you. The opposition should spur the govt in power to perform in order to keep them quiet. In our case we see criticism as challenge. If you were Rotimi Amaechi, what would you have done. Nigeria's democracy isn't a monarchy! GEJ is not our King! He BEGGED for our votes and we voted him in. I am sure Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi contributed in no small measures to get him elected in 2011. What right has Patience Jonathan got to tell the whole world that she's has been angry with the governor of her State for the past four years? Is this what you call African democracy? Please stop embarrassing yourself! When you watch Barack Obama and Mitchel Obama speak aren't you moved? These two have forever made the black race proud! And for you information, Barack Obama is African! His father is Kenyan. I urge all nairalanders to contribute positively in this forum. We should not allow online forums to be hijacked by people who aren't sure of what they are saying! But for the Rivers crisis we would not have seen / known the likes of Evans Bipi who are a desperate and willing (half-backd / unbaked) tool, who cannot even comport themselves / speak passable English, who call people 'jesus christ' and want to attain speakership / leadership by force and with the tacit support of some powerful hands. It is high time we take true talk to our communities, to our streets and neighborhood to avoid a mistake in voting for credible leadership. I plead with the media to ensure that all those seeking for elective positions come out and debate and let the electorates properly assess them so that we can enjoy genuine democracy. God bless Nigeria 1 Like |
