The reason why I might not agree with you fully is because plans change.

I must admit I completely forgot about this news, however there are many things that still fall short.

Why I also agree with you is that the Nigerian navy's head of submarine unit detailed the exact type of submarine Nigeria should go for, and that information is also public knowledge. I will post the source later.

The reason I have decided against posting my source on this is because before you know what's happening, I'll see a tweet on twitter with grandiose claims about how Nigeria has ordered submarines.

I cannot be a party to the spread of false and malicious information.

However I can say that if Nigeria was ever going to procure a submarine in the next 5 - 10 years, navy planners would likely (with a high probability) go for the Type 214 submarine from Germany.

It is from the $1.3 billion plan for security for the Nigerian navy.

It was supposed to be an extra-budgetry acquisition for the Nigerian navy.

The fact remains that @fieldmarshall06 provided his source, and for this he is right.

This is what is known as the PATINA of the Tank Most sheets of Metal Tanks prior to be being painted would of been galvanized/ bathed in Zinc to prevent against Corrosion it is highly doubtful that the Chinese fully aware that Nigeria being one of their future Biggest customers would sell inferior Tanks . The Chinese would be anxious as well as the Nigerians to see how well / badly they perform in battle, Also there are a quite a few Western Countries even from a point of curiosity would like to see why Nigeria actually chose these Tanks over the upgraded T72.

off topic . US navy USS Roosevelt (DDG-80) destroyer in a visit to Algiers port

USS Roosevelt Arrives in Algiers
18 October 2020
From U.S. Naval Forces Africa Public Affairs

The Arleigh Burke guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) conducted a port visit in Algiers, Algeria, Oct. 18.

“Algeria plays a central role in the security of the Mediterranean,” said Rear Adm. Michael Baze, director of maritime headquarters, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa. “We look forward to strengthening our maritime ties with Algeria to advance our mutual interests in combatting malign activity on Africa’s Mediterranean coast.”

Roosevelt, on its first patrol in U.S. Sixth Fleet, conducted maritime security operations off the North African coast.

Together, this visit and these operations demonstrate U.S. Naval Forces Africa’s steady effort to build global maritime partnerships with African nations in order to improve maritime safety and security in the region.

“The U.S.-Algerian partnership is marked by deep mutual respect,” said U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Algeria Gautam Rana. “Both sides are working together to learn from one another, and we cooperate together closely to encourage stability and prosperity in the region.”

Roosevelt’s visit is the latest in a series of engagements with Algeria. U.S. Army Gen. Stephen Townsend , commander of U.S. Africa Command, met on Sept. 23 with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in Algiers, where the two discussed regional security issues and engagement opportunities. On Oct. 1, U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper met with President Tebboune, discussing expanding military cooperation between the two countries and the threats from violent extremist organizations in the region and beyond. Secretary Esper’s visit marked the first visit to Algeria by a sitting secretary of defense since 2006.

Roosevelt , outfitted with the Navy’s most recent Advanced Capability Build technology and software upgrades, integrates its weapons and sensors to include Cooperative Engagement Capability; Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile; Mk 15 Close-In Weapons System Block 1B; and the Mk 41 Vertical Launching System, capable of supporting Standard Missile (SM) 3 and newer variants. These capabilities vastly increase the sea-based Ballistic Missile Defense force structure and contribute to NATO's robust integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) architecture.

As the first Flight IIA forward-deployed Naval Forces-Europe (FDNF-E) destroyer to join U.S. Sixth Fleet, Roosevelt is deployed with two embarked MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopters, which increase its surface and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

Roosevelt conducts operations in support of U.S. national security interests in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations. U.S. Sixth Fleet conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa

Well done Ghana!

"Ghana’s Parliament approved $86,1 million in government loans to fund acquisition of 19 armoured vehicles from Israel’s Elbit Land Systems.

In terms of the agreement, Elbit Land Systems will supply nine 8×8 Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) equipped with Elbit Systems UT30 30 mm remotely operated turrets. The order includes ten 6×6 IFVs fitted for reconnaissance operations.

The acquisition will help Ghana’s military realise long-delayed establishment of two new armoured regiments to be based in Sunyani and Tamale.

In August, the Ghanaian Army elevated 2 Independent Reconnaissance Squadron of the 153 Armoured Regiment to create the 154 Armoured Regiment. The 153 Armoured Regiment is set to remain under GAF Central Command in Sunyani when the new 154 Regiment moves north to Tamale to provide armour support to GAF Northern Command in Tamale.

Planning is underway for the establishment of the GAF 155 Armoured Regiment. The establishment of GAF armoured units is delayed by a lack of funds, logistic equipment and weapons platforms."

Do you know the platform it would be based on?

Do you mean the 6x6?
The 8x8 is likely to be the Singaporean Terrex 2, which Elbit markets as the Sentinel, pictured on my original post.

As yet, no info for the 6x6.

Looking at these 2Photos reminds Me that there is a need for Proforce to develop a Tracked Variant and a 6*6 IFV Vehicle or else the gated thin skinned Toyota will continue.

So it is because of corruption we don't have F-35s and B-52s in Africa?

super yes it can defeat nations without a single shot fired.
How was f35 and b52 created?

Well funded universities and laboratories for research of parts and testing of new tech.

Well funded industrial infrastructure network to supply those parts

Excellent payment schemes for workers and researchers involved in production of those planes(one of the reasons it was freaking expensive)

All this could have been grounded by CORRUPTION with no single shot fired.

They funded all these with how much?

Why don't you tell us revenue generation of the countries in Africa?

The United States spends over 700 billion dollars on defence alone, how does the combined revenue generation in Africa compare to this?

You know what, thinking critically is very difficult, let's just pin it on the easy scape goat, CORRUPTION.

Egypt has the strongest military in Africa, followed by Algeria then Morocco.

After these 3, you have regional powers, Nigeria in west-africa, South-Africa in the Southern region and Ethiopia in the East African region.

Are you saying with the budget generated in most African countries if managed well

Isn't enough to build research centers and advanced universities to research advanced tech

Isn't enough to build modern day infrastructures to produce domestic military hardware.

Isn't enough to process resources we already have that can reduce to cost of producing this military hardwares

isn't enough to attain to a domestic military industrial complex.

Isn't enough to create a spy network to steal teachnolgy.

China, Iran, NK are under heavy sanctions but are producing advanced military hardwares(two even got nukes and one is about to)

Is Africa under sanctions?
Ask your self what is holding us back?

Like you said "critical thinking is very difficult"
