Today is Nigerian Armed Forces remembrance day..

Here is the official emblem of Nigerian Armed Forces day 2017.

In Nigeria, Armed Forces Day, also known as Remembrance Day, is celebrated on 15 January. It was formerly marked on 11 November of every year to coincide with the Remembrance Day (Poppy Day) for the World War II veterans in the British Commonwealth of Nations, but it was changed to 15 January of every year in Nigeria in commemoration of the surrender of Biafran troops to the Federal troops on 15 January 1970 thus signalling the end of the Nigerian Civil War.

@ Airborne360 Odunayaw Henry240 tdayof bidexii deathmachine...I have a question ooo.
you know the military organization of platoon, company, battalion, brigade etc... does it also apply to the air force, and navy??
If so,is it the same numbers of 30-40 that makes a naval platoon, air force platoon?

On this Remembrance Day 2017,
I sincerely want to thank every Nigerian,
Living or dead,
Whom has ever been a member of any of the Armed Services of the Federal Republic.

I have no idea of the personal sacrifices you make daily,
But I sure know it is not easy giving up your comfort, rights, privileges and freedoms;
Just to ensure we civvies can all safely transact our business and end the day in our beds.

For those who made the supreme sacrifice,
So the green and white may experience no disgrace,
We shall always celebrate and remember your sacrifice.

May God grant you eternal rest
And your families grace and strength
To push on and forge ahead without you.

For those still actively serving,
We wish you Godspeed and bountiful hunting
As you diligently and accurately rain multi-caliber pain on all Nigeria's enemies
True and loyal Nigerians are solidly behind you gentlemen!

God bless the Federal Republic
God bless the President
God bless the Nigerian Military

As we have celebrated the lives of our armed forces in death, let us also celebrate the sacrifices of our soldiers who are living.

Today is armed forces remembrance day. Let's us celebrate our Nigerian soldiers and their families who have continued to offer selfless service to the military, the people and the Nation voluntarily.

These men and women could have chosen to be businessmen, bankers, lawyers, doctors, IT consultants, but instead they chose a path of unwavering selfless service. They chose to sleep in the bush while most of us sleep on our soft beds.

From me and the rest of the Nairaland.com/Africanmilitaries and security services community, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the unmatched services you have rendered.

To the guys in the Nigerian military who comment in this thread, @Deathmachine, @Youngmoneypi and @Airborne360, we owe you a debt of gratitude.

This thread would not exist without the immense sacrifices you, your Brothers-in-Arms and your families continue to make.

Thank you.

Good bless You
Good bless the Military
Good bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

That's an old video, 2013. At the time, there was no evidence to prove that they were Nigerian soldiers either.

Excellent choice, it's performance in the field has been stellar. The CS/VP3 has proven to be an excellent choice for the Nigerian military.

However, i don't think it's a police vehicle though, even border patrol. Additional VN-4's should have been purchased instead.

I guess with the MRAPs, Kenya Police going with the maxim, "It's better you have it and done need it, than you need it and don't have it".

It's an excellent MRAP.

I think they decided they want zero casualties from ambushes or roadside IEDs...... gotta give it them though, they been doing an exelent job in preventing or minimizing attacks to the border.... we dont here of harrasment of the locals, or mistreatments of suspect, we dont here suspected terrorist dying in unclear or unexplained circumstances in a 'shoot out', nowadays you just here arrests after arrest......after infomation provided by the 'public', and when they give reports they tell you who the suspects are, where they were, how they got there, why they are suspects.... you could almost say most of their (police) operations nowadays are intelligently led
the latest one bieng..
