Nightshift: Norwegians are smart folks. The future of its citizens( born and yet to be born) is almost assured of good life with the government saving about €500 billion for coming generations.
The number one country in marine engineering does not show any air of arrogance as well.

u honestly think Nigerians would do that? We are as materialistic as can be; we would splash out all of that on necessary things, the ones that arent stolen of course cheesy

Emperor_007: I'm not surprise at all, their ( Norwegian ) orientation is one of the best on earth.

We really have a long way to go in this country.

I was shocked at the car Norwegians use on my first visit, and my wife got more shocked when We visited Germany. Long story short, when I told people back home here ( in Nigeria ) the most expensive car that very few people use in both countries ( the states visited - Stavanger and Hannover ), some Nigerians responded by telling me, they ( Germans and Norwegians ) don't have money and can't afford expensive cars.

Our orientation and the way we think is not encouraging.

Note: Norway is presently the most progressed country on earth and the best place to be a mother on this planet.

Its the whole soc though isnt it as you've alluded to.

But what about religion? Whilst you have prosperity preaching as rampant as it is in nigeria, people will never stop being materialistic.

Also what about families? They have one or two kids up there and their population is small, but here its all about marriage and kids kids kids. Its hard to look after 170m people, especially with the problems nja faces and especially when we're projected to increase it to around 300m in 2050!..Its insane

EKONGKING: Althought it appears as a political stunt. you have to admire at security of the country for the PM to pull it off

Imagine a scenerio where Jona or any other Nigerian pollitician tries to pull this off.....in a country unsafe as Nigeria, either boko boys kidnap him or anoda group does same.

How does GEJ hear from Nigerians since the press is muscled down by dubious ownerships? Yes, the press outfits are owned by the politically connected who have used portions of their loot to establish them. Try being an independent minded journalist, you will be sacked pronto. Try being an investigative journalist in Nigeria, good luck with that and your life. What we have is the naira bundle journalism. Journalist can kill each for a political interview assignment. The brown envelope that comes from the corrupt political interviwee is to die for.
The President appears frightened to face an open, live,and unedited press conference. He only reads prepared statements where and there is no room to ask or answer questions. We are therefore left in a dark democracy; rumours are the order of the day. Government actions are not explained, people are not connected with; people's views do not matter.
Maybe GEJ should disguise himself enough to drive a taxi in Lagos or PortHarcourt. In PH, he can find out if he is more popular than Amaechi. In Lagos, the melting pot of all Nigerian ethnicities, he can truely find out what people think about the job he is doing as president.
