There are some hard questions this government has yet to answer, using all manner of distractions, from boko haram, to Rivers state crises, to NGF crises, child marriage wahala, to 2015 struggle and so on and so forth, to hoodwink Nigerians. Perhaps it is time we re-visited those issues because the govt. appears to be thinking all Nigerians have totally forgotten about them. Now, we need to know the status of all the investigations into the fuel subsidy fraud which of course dwarfs every known fraud in the history of this country! Over 1.5trillion went missing and not a single conviction despite all the indictments! We know who authorised those payments and we know to whom the payments were made. We were made to understand some people collected monies and didn't import a single litre of products. Others imported using vessles that have long formed breeding grounds for marine animals at the bottom of the ocean years ago. In other cases we saw that thesame vessle that was said to have brought in products berthed in another country tens of thousands of miles away from Nigeria on thesame day!!! (talk about ghost ships!). The list of abnormalities is endless! What has happened to all the thieves Mr President?? What has happened to Ahmadu Ali and Bamanga Tukur's sons?? Or is your inability to bring them to book also the work of desperate elements in the oposition since you have a knack of attributing your every failure to the opposition? We all come here every other day and rumble over petty issues, engaging in tribal wars, ethnic and religious bashing, while the salient issues remain unattended to. I wouldn't be suprised if this thread goes nowhere since it doesn't contain tribal or religious ingredients! It is high time Jonathan and his crew told us what is going on! Not all of us have forgotten and we need answers now!! God bless Nigeria. 5 Likes |

Thank you Omenka for this thread The President is busy issuing press releases against the APC because he was indirectly told that he's been a non starter so far when Akande called him a kindergarten president This are stong words but not out of place People are dying like chickens up north Roads [esp federal ones] are death traps The 'so called' economic growth is not reflecting in the life of the average citizen Revenue is daily been lost to oil vandals University students went on strike just as the polytechnic students resumed from their and all the president could think of was castigate the opposition for calling him [not the office he holds] names Do you expect the opposition to say you smell like roses [even if that is the truth which currently is not?] With all the challenges confronting Nigeria all he could do was that? Delusion has no other name IMHO But when one is idle even when you have tasks to do, what do you expect? God bless Nigeria 5 Likes |

Nice thread. This issue if not resolved could potentialy thwart the gentleman's bid to return to Aso Villa in 2015. My opinion tho. |

ochukoccna: Thank you Omenka for this thread It realy hurts me no end to see this country adrift as she curently is. We deserve far better than this, haba! What exactly is this government up to?? Do they realy have any plans to fix anything?? Nothing seems to be working at the moment. Absolutely nothing!!! Yet day in day out, we are bombarded by press releases from Abati and co, berrating the opposition for this or that. I'm realy sick of this government. We can't afford to continue along this trajectory and expect anything positive. Something has got to give! |
Re: Nigerians Need Answers Mr Jonathan!!! by Gbawe: 3:36pm On Aug 13, 2013 |
@OP. This President has no answers because he was never deployed to be a solutions provider in the first place. You cannot ask a bricklayer to operate as a chef and then demand that the meal he cooks must be the finest gourmet offering possible. Only Nigerians reason like that hence the reason they can ditch common sense and tangibly solid considerations to vote for a man because he wore no shoes and has the name of "Goodluck". In most nations of the world citizens would be united in noting that whatever his name and regardless of whether he walked to school barefooted or not, this is a man who is mediocrity personified and with no history of excelling in less demanding roles let alone be entrusted with the giant task of leading a nation such as Nigeria. We make our bed, we lay in it. When we begin to shun ethnocentric and sectional bias, to make mature political decisions as others do worldwide, then we will gain a President who will ensure you will not have to ask the questions you seek answers for currently. 3 Likes |

omenka: I wrote this on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/1393951/african-development-bank-report-political#17380369 , and believes it is relevant to the current discussion Please note, it is not a denigration of the person of the president It is just that his abilities and capabilities are dwarfed by the position he occupies GEJ reminds one of Macbeth Written by Shakespeare between 1603-1607 it is still yet one of the darkest and most powerful tragedies written by man This man got the presidency by been wily and crafty not by been prepared and visionary The corrosive psychological and political effects produced when deception rather than ability is chosen as a way to fulfil the ambition for power is now plain for us all to see You might agree or disagree with my viewpoint, yet without vision the leader[s] will run a country aground Even the good book says the blind leader will only lead those following into a ditch Read the transformation agenda and tell me if vision inspires you and strikes at your heart Obasanjo, as much as I loathe his overbearing corrupt nature was right, You can help someone to get a job,but you CANNOT help that person to do his job And the simple truth is governing Nigeria as president is beyond the ability of its current occupant at this point in time 1 Like |

What irritates me most is the way the Gej's government consistently blame opposition parties and past administrations for their own failure |

lakhadimar: What irritates me most is the way the Gej's government consistently blame opposition parties and past administrations for their own failure Indeed it is realy appaling! It is a shame they don't even realize admitting their own faults and taking responsibility for some of the failures as we see today, rather than the usual attitude of buck passing, would earn them more respect and credit even from hardline critics. It is a general knowledge that accepting faults and taking blames make one appear responsible and willing to make corrections, even if that isn't the case. But this tasteless, irresponsible, and utterly despicable government wouldn't know that now would they? I ask again, where are the subsidy thieves?? |

As we can see, the usual trolls would avoid this thread like a plague! I can see them viewing this board but they would never stop by. They'd rather look for a thread that condemns Fashola for farting in public, shows Soyinka smoking cigar, or that which contains pics of sleaze on the streets of Oweri. It's a shame how morally bankrupt most of our youths have become. |

omenka: As we can see, the usual trolls would avoid this thread like a plague! It shall be well with you...u will never see them where cognitive and cerebral issues are being discussed. I was shocked to find out an earlier thread opened by Gbawe about the Oil majors complaining about their operational challenges have not really attracted much comments only then did I discover the mess we are in as a country whereby supposedly educated folks especially the youths will jettison barefaced facts and elect to cling unto lies, mediocrity, ethnoreligious sentiments, patent falsehood and megalomanic propaganda being consistently and salaciously dished out by this government in order to divert our attention from the real issues 1 Like |

Last I checked, nigeria is a democratic nation where judiciary is separate from executive. @Op, It's people like you who will come to NL and shout political persecution when Jonathan becomes that bully you want him to be. Now tell me what you want the president to do when executive charge a criminal to court and court grant him bail and adjourned indefinitely. Who granted Odili perpetual injunction against efcc from prosecution him. You people thinks there is award for thinking through ANUS 2 Likes |

How many politically exposed persons have been prosecuted let alone convicted under the curent leadership? Yet they claim their zeal to fight corruption is second only to that of united states!! Terrible as Obj was, he did a better job of fightin corruption. Your paymaster sets up a comittee to investigate fraud and impregnates a "virus" into thesame committee to make rubish of whatever is the outcome of their investigation. Need we remind you of such instances?? He ensures he kills cases even before they get to the doorsteps of the courts. What are people like mrs Alison Madueke and Mohammed Adoke still doing in his cabinet despite the numerous sleaze their names have been mentioned in? Someday, and I pray very soon, Nigeria will get an honest leader at the centre and jonathan will be called to explain his role in all of these schemes as we witness today. God bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

The solution is simple. Come 2015 No to PDP, No to GEJ. Let's give APC a chance. Agree or not, they seem to have more responsible personalities. I believe they can move this nation forward. |

[/Quote]Nigeria is a federating unit where states can equally do like FG most cases. For God sake, is there any law that prevent states and local governments from fighting corruption? If Lagos government can procecute Al mustapha without waiting FG, why are they waiting them to fight those who stole their money. I remember rubbish your type has been spewing off their mouth against FG for trying to procecute Lagos speaker. Do you think corruption only exist in federal government? HYPOCRITE. |
