You people should just know that you are required to leave NZ 14 days after you finish your programme. You're not required to apply to NZ or any other country until after staying two years in your country. Please, before you apply for a scholarship try and read the terms before applying. Don't be taken away by the prospect of going to NZ. |

Nsiehi: Invercargill is a small town with about 50,000 people. I have never been there. If you have all the funds required to live and study, you may go for it. Also consider if you can scale the hurdle of "bonafide" student. 1 Like |

jossygold2007: I do not have a list,it will be better you make use google. All international students must pay tuition in full before the school can give you enrollment certificate required for visa processing. |

go4value: What level of study is this course? Can you convince INZ you are a bonafide student especially with your age(I am sorry I have to put it this way)? |
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by cconcept: 1:32am On Feb 19, 2018 |
murphy02: In the first instance, you need a reason for INZ to give you a visa to be in New Zealand(job offer, study, residency, family, talent and sport etc) You may want to read my comment https://www.nairaland.com/2986318/new-zealand-skilled-worker-category/11#57431370 |

Has anyone ever deferred a scholarship? Does anyone know the "exceptional circumstances" that MFAT considers for deferrals? There's no explanation on that. |
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by futureenergy: 9:54pm On Feb 21, 2018 |
NewMiembro:Circumstances like illness, wife giving birth, or death of close one. No matter what it is, talk with MFAT. They are the most friendly and understanding organization I've related with. However, deferral or postponement of resumption is easier for PhD. |

fetuga2:give it a try, justify how related your completed educational programs are to the program you are applying to. consequently, how it will improve the country. |

ojsamuel:Please what are the required documents for application, how about transcript since most universities does'nt give transcript directly to students. |
Re: General New Zealand Student Enquires by Delvindy: 1:59pm On Feb 28, 2018 |
abusaibu: Yes. I recently got a full scholarship for PhD. I don't have any publication. But, I have presented a poster at a seminar and I did posses some of the skills that were required by my supervisor's research grant. All I did was submit my documents and proposal to my supervisor, who accepted me and then the department forwarded my credentials to the school. Alongside my admission application, I applied for scholarship and I was successful. They say once your supervisor accepts you, it is usually not much of a big deal to scale through the other processes. They say. I don't know. |

Good work here to everyone. I got admitted into the PhD in Preventive and Social Medicine program at University of Otago last year. However, I deferred my admission to September 2018 because I got a fixed term job in the UK which will end in July 2018 and also to raise some money because I was refused the doctoral scholarship I applied for. I intend to apply for visa in June before I leave the UK in July for me, my wife and baby and I should have the required fund for everyone. My question goes thus: 1. My plan is to get the NZ visa before I leave the UK for Nigeria cos my resumption is in September. Is it advisable to apply for the visa in the UK since I won't be employed after the end of my UK contract and I don't have a job in Nigeria either? 2. For how many months do I have to have the POF in my account? 3. What evidence can I use to show that I will leave NZ after completion of my studies considering the fact that I want to go with my wife and baby and no job in Nigeria? 4. Since I will be self-funded, will 1 year tuition and maintenance fees suffice? I plan working in NZ because my profession is in demand in NZ 5. Is June 2018 a good time to apply for the visa because I am resuming in September 2018 (three months interval)? 6. Any other advice will be appreciated. |
