The Kaduna state chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) today dismissed media reports that a faction of the party has dumped the Bamanga Tukur-led National Working Committee (NWC) to pitch tent with the new PDP-led by Mr Kawu Baraje.

It also refuted claims by some founding members of the state chapter of the party, that there was division in the state chapter and that the fortunes of the party has dwindled since the elevation of Vice President Namadi Sambo.

In an interview with Channels Television, the state PDP Chairman, Mr Abubakar Haruna in company with other state working committee members, said the purported statement credited to the former state chairman of the party, Mr Yaro Makama and a former lawmaker, Gideon Morik alleging a division in Kaduna state chapter of the party was totally untrue and a subtle move by a group of opportunists to distabilize the party.

He stated that the state chapter of the party remains solidly behind the leadership of Bamanga Tukur as National Chairman of the party and Namadi Sambo as the leader of the party in the north.

He described the group as self-centred politicians who are bent on discrediting Vice President Namadi Sambo over their insatiable quest for patronage and accumulation of wealth.

He added that majority of those causing trouble in the state are not even indigenes of the state, stressing that the action of some governors to walk out on President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo at the just concluded PDP Special Convention amount to insubordination and disrespect to the constituted authority.
