Field/Operations Manager

REPORTS TO:
Managing Director
WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
Develops and evaluates calibration methods, procedures and techniques by utilizing principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, accuracy and precision requirements. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Makes technical presentations when required Carries out on-the-job training in calibration for new hires and other employees Carries out preventive maintenance monitoring to ensure compliance and accuracy of all reference standards Responsible for carrying out uncertainty of measurements for different calibration jobs. Monitors calibration status on periodic basis Maintains good work relationship with regulatory bodies Monitors the maintenance and repairs of company’s measuring equipment and ensuring that standards are met. Provide guidelines to engineering team on calibration processes for all projects. Manage day to day activities associated with calibration including client liaison and calibrators’ equipment certification. Supervises, teaches, coaches other officers in the field
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Knowledgeable in measurement and testing, that is, legal/applied/technical/industrial metrology JOB SUMMARY Ensures proper, accurate and on time calibration of storage tanks. Responsible for validating and certification of measurements systems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS REQUIRED SKILLS: Able to carry out basic cost-benefit analysis using MS Excel as a tool Ability to present and communicate information to management for decision-making using MS Word and Power-point as tools Taking initiative/ initiating action Working with others within the organization and possessing the ability to actively engage clients/customers to solicit feedback and determine their needs/expectations Relating and Networking Able to set and achieve annual and monthly goals and objectives for his department/team Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 10 years experience of which 7 has been spent in the areas of measurement and calibration within the Oil and Gas and/or Electricity Sectors Field and managerial experiences required Additional/other Oil and gas experience (in the areas of sales & marketing, or depot/station operations) – added advantage Conversant in the use of calibration, weighing and measuring equipment Experienced in the calibration of underground tanks and pumps/meters at retail stations Experienced in the calibration of overhead tanks and dispensing pumps/meters at petroleum products depots Willing to travel extensively within Nigeria
