Those of us in govt and state Uni are nt actually smarter dan dis private uni student let's be honest our parent couldn't afford dem dats why we ended up in govt uni...unlike govt uni private uni is More transperent,nothing like buy any stupid text book by ur lecturer or handouts, 10 years ago private uni never existed 10 years after they are well knowed,10 years from now am sure they will be better dan most govt uni

Change is constant either positive or negative D only change d govt uni is undergoing is negative

Sit down there and deceive yourselves. Govt Uni is better dan private uni and you have spent 7 years on a 4 or 5 year degree programm

Congrats to them though.but we all know 1st class grade is being watered down by private universities..so much.
One doesn't score above 200 in Jamb,goes to one of them private schools and comes out with a 1st class(clap for yourself..wetin u no know,u no really know am.no be magic).

Some of my friends that failed out of Med school(2nd MB)..just went straight to igbinedion uni and the next 6months they pass 2MB n tell u they were one of the best..
And who lectures them there,graduate assistants(maybe without any Msc or phD)?
Biko nu,come to UNN and meet Prof Martin Aghaji,show him u know surgery and wait for distinction.OR Prof Soludo and get 4.9 in economics.

Ms_Steph: 1st in a private uni is like 2.2 in a govt uni. Dey give it by whose parent contribute more moni in d schl. I have a frnd who was in a federal uni nd was always btw 1.39 cgpa but came out with a 2:1 in a private uni

4.96 is not impossible, in fact in 2008 a friend of mine was the best graduating student in Unilag (from dept. of Mathematics) with 4.96. They guy is now in Harvard doing his phd. If you go to Ivy schools in US, you will find a lot of Nigerians from Federal Unis. My question is, why don't we find 1st class grads from private unis in Ivy schools? At least 80% of 1st class grad want to do a phd but instead, you find most 1st class grad from private Unis going to a regular/ below par university in UK for maters. Schools that require no gre or gmat and will even give a 3rd class conditional admission and 2.2 straight admission. Is it about quality?

No dude has ever graduated with 4.96 in lasu... Wetin dept of accounting do me i knw go forget am . A school that graduated just 41 first class out of 28000 graduating students for three consecutive set with the overall best student having a cgpa of 4.76. My children will go to private university to bag their own first class.

True man..i did p.d at uniport last year and i got double admission from p.d and post utme there( diff courses)..i had friends of rich parents then and at the end because of too much famzing, they didnt make it..guess what..? They all went to either covenant or madonna..so if at the end they grad with a 1st class, i wouldn't be too impressed.

A number of those who couldnt score more 200 actually wrote the exams without help from outside. Why not try and research the number of those who score perform well( within the same percentile) in their Post-UME tests?

Education is sweet and atimes easier when you get all the support and financial assistance from parents and also a condusive environment for learning provided by Private Uni than Federal and State Uni.....Congrats to the twins but to be sincere some Lecturers fustrate students this days some will fail you if you don't but their textbooks or handouts I remember one of my GST Lecturers then that calls us POOR because we refuse to buy his book and the Lecturer because of that sets questions in exam that He did not taught in Lecture room which the student that pass best got C in that course tell me if you have 3 or 4 of that Lecturer in your Dept how can you have 4.96? But you know what is not by grade but by the mercies of the Lord that maketh one to be SUCCESSFUL in Life.
