In April, I was outta town and a transfer failed to materialise and seeing as I knew nobody around I decided to withdraw the last 500naira in my account. I get to the bank at 8am after sleeping hungry and present a filled-out withdrawal slip to the teller and he looks up at me and says I don't ha ve enough to withdraw that amount, I wan die. He then goes on to explain that I'll be paying a 100naira charge for not using my atm card, come see as I dey smile on top 400naira. I collect my money leave the bank premises buy bread and butter and tea tutu for 130naira, get a 100naira recharge card and call the mofo who put me through the mess and cursed his generations yet unborn. Point is, I was overjoyed with my 400naira, would I do that again? Yes, if hunger threatens to put an end to my dreams and happiness. 16 Likes |

Bobs, I collect my change to the last kobo. Its my money and I have the right to do whatsoever I want with it. Collecting N500 from the counter will not hurt my swagger. In the words of Dr Becker,"its the principle that matters". 1 Like |

Truth is that I would be very shy, but I rather withdraw with all the shame and shyness in this world than ask somebody to lend me money. Matter of fact, I rather go hungry for days than borrow money. On the other hand, I've never for one day felt the urge (consciously or not) to undermine/underrate those who do so. 1 Like |

I will withdraw it well well. No be my money? ![]() My friends and I have once camped in the defunct Cooperative bank when I was in the University. Reason? Semester is over, we wanna go home. They sent money from house for tfare, but since it was those days when bank transactions took 2-3 days, the money didn't come on time. We just sat there are was telling the tellers to be checking every 10mins if the money has come! ![]() Those people eventually gave us money and told us they will debit our account when the money comes. Cos we refused to leave even when they were about to close!! ![]() ![]() 1 Like |

Ha!...poor people with big pride! ...same people that don't bend down to pick up small.change they dropped. I withdraw even N100 sef and raise hell if the teller or anybody say anything stupid...my money is my money. Pride is a big stumbling block to getting ahead in life. |
