Yes Jonathan does not sound like every nigerian just like our president does not sound like every Ghanaian but one thing is most educated Ghanaians English are really polished compare to other Africans. The best accent in Ghana comes from the ewe and the fanti.

like I said, the ones I've heard sound American, bearing in mind that even the American accent varies. Here, education doesn't determine accent, rather exposure i.e where you were bred. A graduate from a university in Ibadan who has lived all their lives there, most likely won't speak as good as a secondary school drop-out who has lived in Lagos/Abuja or even Kano all their lives. Going by that, nigeria would outnumber Ghana, right?

To you it might sound like it, but to someone who speaks and knows American accent then the answer is no. I will say nigerian accent sounds more American than Zimbos because of exposure between the two.

One thing I saw is west african unis are lacking behind other parts of Africa. That's the only thing I got. So let's put this to bed. If Nigeria has better uni than Ghana or vice versa is all good.

The only ranking that seems to have nigerian uni in top 10 is this 4icu. I have to do research on that website because it does not correspond with other rankings. It also does not correspond with the world rankings.

Let me break this down for you. An accent can be considered sexy but yet unpolished and hard to understand. Italians accent and French accents are hard to understand but people think is sexy. British accent wasn't among the top 5 sexiest but if we did a poll the British accent is the most polish and sexiest.

All I am trying to say is an accent can be considered sexy but hard to understand and not really well polish.

Ghanaians English tend to be more polish example was the pronunciation of the presidents. The Ghanaian president was more polished, so Onila thought he studied abroad.

Zongo communities in Ghana are indigenes of Hausa(Nigeria,chad,Mali) extraction. Indeed the origins of Ghana-Nigeria Tit-Tat deportation was because of the huge influx of the migration of foreigners(largely Hausa) to post independent Ghana.
Today, Hausa has integrated into mainstream Ghanaian tribes.

He's a Nigerian from my ethnic group, he is Fulani. However, that is not really a typical Fulani accent either. He must have gone to some of the best Western schools.

Correct, and even Upper Volta (Burkina Faso) you will find Hausa. That's a good question that you pose though. I hear that Ghana detests Fulani people.

I don't know why, but that's what most people think. Once you are from the north and Muslim you are automatically considered Hausa. Like there aren't other tribes up north. Do we have fulanis in Ghana.

It's wrong for them to do so, because whilst most Fulani, Kanuri, Tuareg, etc. do speak Hausa in Nigeria, not all of them do, in fact not all West African Muslims from Ghana and Nigeria from the North though
