iseethegoal: Please is there anyone that applied in early July and has gotten a response? I was refused, but I refired on July 7, but nothing yet from CIC. Pretty worried now as I need to know what next and if need be defer the admission since school will be resuming soon.
I applied since June,nothing yet.
so don't worry, things gonna be fine.

temidel: II give all the Glory and honor to God Almighty for his grace and unending mercy. My TRV story became successful with nothing else but Gods UNMERITED FAVOUR…indeed!! My story was an exception to the rules or norm!!
I applied online for my TRV on the 1st of July, 2014 only to discover a few days later that I made a huge mistake with my application…I discovered the following:

(1) CIC FORMS: My Family information form was totally incomplete and I also gave wrong information. Due to rush or sheer carelessness I entered a wrong date of birth for myself, which is totally different from my real age (what’s in my international passport). my parents are deceased and I did not include their death dates and city as requested on the form, I failed to declare if I had children or not and sign as required (even though I’m currently single let alone to have kids). I also did not include the country of birth of my siblings in the space provided. and ooops!! I remembered what someone said on this thread about how CIC declines application for people who either provide wrong information or fail to fill their forms completely (https://www.nairaland.com/1475467/travelling-canada-part-5/347)

(2) LOE: My letter of Explanation was not as detailed as it may have been for most people in here. Though just a page, no introduction, didn’t state why I chose to study in Canada, didn’t mention why my uncle was my co-sponsor, let alone state what he stands to benefit from sponsoring me. I only talked about why I chose my course of study, what my academic expectations are and the gap I hope to fill back home with the skills I acquire after study. I also talked a little about my work experience and why I decided to study in the school where I got admitted to and that was all.

I found out about this thread after I had submitted my application and I felt really depressed and looked forward to a denial. I sooo wished I had visited this thread before submitting my application and I knew it can only take Gods unmerited favor for this to be successful, so i fasted and did a lot of prayer work. In fact, at a point i stopped praying and still feared I was going to be denied but lo and behold:

I received a medical request on the 28th of July
Did medicals at Asaju-31st July
Passport Request- 5th August
TRV stamped and passport pickup-8th August

Documents submitted include: CIC forms, My account statement, my co-sponsors (Uncle) account statement, pension statement, Affidavit of sponsor, Letter of Sponsorship, my share certificate, SOP, letter of acceptance, employment letter, promotion letter, paystubs, staff id card, NYSC certificate, degree certificate and transcripts, police clearance certificate, passport info and digital photograph.

Note: I and my uncle don’t bear same surname and I didn’t include my parent’s death certificates

Moral of the story: There’s a God factor which supersedes every human endeavor and there can always be an exception to every rule. But only with God will all things be possible. Congrats to those who already got their TRV’s and to the medicals and TRV hopefuls, PLEASE commit everything to God. Even those who are over qualified still get denied. To those who use their time and resource (data, relevant documents) to attend to various queries in here and guide prospects with viable tips on the application process(Even more than most agents would do)…God will duly reward you with Favor in everything you set your heart to do…
Sorry for the Long, yet inspiring story grin

Canada can’t wait to receive a star!!!!....... Have a great day all.
God is good.
may he crown our effort.
Amin.

Hi Nkechima, just to clarify, I was not referring to asylum. There are really no grounds for that, for anyone coming from Nigeria.
What I meant was, you wanted to do a certain program, then work, then go back and study what you really wanted. I just wondered if, maybe if you looked at a lot of different schools, you might find one that offered a way for you to immediately go ahead and study what you wanted. For instance, schools sometimes have bridging programs, where you go in, take a bunch of pre-requisite/qualifying courses, and then if you do well enough, go on to take the program you want. As opposed to doing an entire program you don't want and then going back to school. Because remember when you do eventually decide to go back after your 1st program, you will have to in some way still demonstrate that you qualify for the program you really want.
The other thing, which I think was mentioned (no time to read through all the posts), was the skilled worker option. There is actually a thread on nairaland for people interested in pursuing that: https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines
Or just go to www.cic.gc.ca, the Canadian government immigration site, and read about it, to see if you qualify.
Hope this helps clear things up.
Again, no time to read through all that's been posted recently, so if all of the above have already been addressed, apologies for the info overload.

Thanks for the clarification. A particular school gave me the option of a pre health program, i welcomed the idea but after speaking with the schools consultant the whole story changed. she said I will be tested in physics, chemistry and maths after the pre health course.na hin fear come enter me because I no do physics and chemistry for school at all and I no wan waste one year for nothing.

But surprisingly my sponsor asked me to go for the pre health program, that i will be taught the basic thing I needed to know. And now I don get admission for Biz operations. hhhmmmmm

I want to go ahead with the study permit application because of my years of experience as an admin staff and maybe age factor. Also, I do not have experience in health care to backup my visa application, although I have been practising as a first aider in my company after I obtained Occupational Health & Safety Cert (7 months as a semiprofessional). if I lay my hands on the visa hhmmm. I go change back to the course I wanted quick quick the moment I get to canny. shebi the tin dey possible because I don hear am well well for dis forum

Yes the two of them have their TRVS now!
They wrote to cic about it and it was corrected between a week to two weeks, so I suggest you do the same, it's a computer wahala.
Goodluck!

@jijola@missbon

I intend requesting my aunt to be a Co sponsor, not that I need a dime from her, its just to boost my financial backing. The issue is that she might find it invading her privacy. Is it possible that she sends her bank statement directly to CIC on my behalf? And if YES how do I advise her to go about it?

Either SOP or LOI/LOE, not both. SOP is in form of Essay while LOI/LOE is in form of a letter. Both explain your intentions or purpose.Just use one, don't worry yourself about the terminologies.
