Fynestboy, you need to be more precise if you want this debate to hold on time without wearing people out. |

uj_sizzle: Fynestboi,i think 10 judges is way too much. If you're having problems eliminating anyone, i'll volunteer myself. It will be difficult having 10 people judging a debate...try 6. Number of judges in such debates should be an odd number; should it result to voting, a case of equal number of votes will not occur. I recommend 5 judges. 1 Like |

Mazi_Omenuko:Doesn't have to be odd duhhh Scores for each criteria can be aggregated and presented as a % score Each candidate can be ranked in the order of position and in turn have the position converted to an agreed weighting to simplify the calc |

jay bee: 10 judges to judge how many contestant? lol I nominate Jaybee |
Re: Nairaland Annual Educational Debate Competition(planning thread) by MaziOmenuko: 8:01am On Oct 15, 2013 |
jay bee: Lol. Why not use calculus to integrate the scores while considering the upper and lower boundaries Read my comment again; it says should it result to voting. Meaning, after all your grading, ranking and integration, if there still happens to be a tie (which is not impossible), the simplest method for tie-break is a simple voting. |
Re: Nairaland Annual Educational Debate Competition(planning thread) by jaybee3(m): 8:15am On Oct 15, 2013 |
Mazi_Omenuko: heheheheheheh Why actively seek for way to penalise a candidate that can be equally as good as the winner? This is not some sport that someone must win to claim the ultimate prize. The markings are going to be subjective so absolutely no point breaking a tie if indeed it does happen. |

Re: Nairaland Annual Educational Debate Competition(planning thread) by Oluwatola5(f): 11:39am On Oct 15, 2013 |
Fynestboi: which name do you should be remove in the list? Now Fynest, when handling this kind of thing, you have got to set principles and guidelines, moreover, let there be a deadline, get the aggregates of votes per person that you have gotten so far, apply the Simple Plurality System of First-past-the-post electoral system and let us move on. Whoever among the candidates scores even one vote than his nearest rival is declared elected. |
