That is d front page criteria for educational topics these days.

Nice one,the issue of good grammar shouldnt be handled with levity,it needs enthusiasm.Humans in general and young adults in particular should develop themselves in lexis and structure, spelling and diction, irrelevant abbreviations should be discouraged during communication because it negatively affects good spelling skills.

I agree with u. And I'm happy u said 'irrelevant abbreviations'. Cuz abbreviations at times are a necessity.

''Thank God for SAVING THE LIFE ''. He didn't actually Die, he almost died. So the ''stabbed to death'' isn't necessary.

''Thank God for saving the Life of my brother who was Stabbed'' would be perfect

Let's assume he was actually stabbed to death , then I don't think ''Saving'' is the right word.

U don't seem to understand my point.

D statement is faulty. YES. But the fault has nothing to do with grammar

Re: How To Acquire/improve Your Grammar Skills by Caseless: 9:54am On Nov 07, 2013
Oghos1: Many people acknowledge the need for good grammar skills in their daily lives. Such people will pay almost anything to acquire these skills. The trouble is, grammar skills are not packaged in a container and traded in the market. Instead, they are a way of life that must be consciously cultivated and maintained, and they can be lost with sustained negligence. Given this fact, it is not easy to hand to someone a grammar magic or charm that can solve their grammar problems. It is needless to say that grammar skills can earn you respect and admiration.

Steps
1 Recognize the need for improvement. If a patient does not feel sick, admit it and recognize the need for medical attention, the doctor cannot do much. The first step to good grammar development is to recognize that the grammar is poor and needs upgrading. This may not be easy for some people especially if they live among people who speak the same quality of grammar. If you live where people speak wrong English most of the time, you are bound to think it is normal. So to begin with, recognize the need for improvement.

2 Know the Standard. That is the first point. What standard constitutes good grammar? Consider this example: “When did John died?” what is wrong with it? And what can be done to make it right?.
