What is the basic requirement for an applicant to qualify for any course of study in the UK?

Answer:
English test! Since June 2010, the UKBA has it as a mandatory for all prospective students from non-mainly English speaking countries(Nigeria others inclusive) wanting to come to the UK to study.

What English tests are approved by the UK Border Agency(UKBA)?

Answer:
The most popular approved tests are IELTS (Academic), Pearson PTE (Academic), Cambridge ESOL and TOEFL (IBT). Other approved tests include City & Guilds ESOL, TOEIC, BEC, ILEC, ICFE and BULATS. Please note that the GCSE and iGCSE English are not approved.

What test score will I need to achieve?

Answer:
If you are studying a course below degree level (e.g. A Level, national certificates and diplomas), you will need to pass at a level equivalent to CEFR B1. Minimum scores are as follows:

IELTS 4.0(with a minimum of 4.0 for listening, reading, writing and speaking)
TOEFL iBT (listening – 13, reading – 8, writing – 17, speaking 19)
Pearson PTE Academic (minimum of 36 in listening, reading, writing and speaking)
Cambridge ESOL (Minimum level PET)

If you are studying at degree level or above, you will need to pass at a level equivalent to CEFR B2. Minimum scores are as follows:

IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 for listening, reading, writing and speaking)
TOEFL iBT (listening – 21, reading – 22, writing – 21, speaking 23)
Pearson PTE Academic (minimum of 51 in listening, reading, writing and speaking)
Cambridge ESOL (Minimum level FCE)

What are other requirements, what if i have gotten the English test, what next do i have to do?

Answer:
a. If you have gotten the English test, you have to apply with a college or university that is approved by the UKBA to sponsor international students. What this basically means is that you have to register with an approved college or a University, make a minimal required initial tuition fee deposit to them for them to send you admission letter or CAS(Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) letter.
b. You have to reserve your accommodation, if the college or University has no accommodation package for you.
c. On receiving your admission letter, including the accommodation reservation documents, you then have to put your cost of maintenance money in your personal bank account and leave it there for a minimum of 28days.
d. Then after this you can proceed to apply for your student visa with the British High Commission, providing them with a printout of the bank account statement, letters from the college and accommodation documents, your basic academic qualifications, other required documents etc, making sure none is forged.
And sofar you meet all these requirement, your student visa is guaranteed.

Yes and No.
Explanation:
No- Hardly can you these days. What you can get from most reputable universities and colleges is what is called part-tuition scholarship or tuition fee discount and some offer up to 50% discount from usual tuition fee. Scholarships are usually this way.

Yes- When you hear that someone is on full scholarship, it is either he or she is on full government scholarship or sponsorship or there is a foundation that offered the person scholarship. However, atimes universities offer full scholarship but it is usually with conditions attached, mostly that as their student you distinguish yourself or meet a certain required academic grade in your first academic session or first year on a given programme. The conditions vary from school to school.
