Its not a small thing. Even if people living at that area does not pay TAXES, they don't deserve such humiliation. Gosh, its really Unbearable. In this 21st Century, that kind of road still Exist. Animals that are in the Zoo are provide even better roads not to talk Human beings that lives in a CITY. I Use that road every day,,,i know what its like. The so called construction is in the hands of a company that does not have the necessary or required Equipment. U need to see the kinda thing that is being used to Construct road in this dispensation. The local government officials there are so so stingy and greedy. But as the saying goes,,, "LETS KEEP HOPE ALIVE". |

We're used to the massive traffic jam. The one at night is even worse. They are alternative routes, people who know them do no spend much time in the mess. Going through 7/8 can get u to iyana ejigbo straight. Though, easier when you're not going. With a private car. Since when have I stopped using car within this axis on weekdays. Fashola bike is there and if you have the guts take public bike but be ready to stay strong when being chased by the Police. Better still, follow the danfos, they know better. |

Hahahhahaa! I laf! The irony of it all is that the chairman of that area was voted as the best chairman in Lagos state. What a shame. If u've not been to Ejigbo b4,u really will not understand what its all abt.Do not make a mistake of still being there by 6:30am if u're working at the Island,or else, the whole of ur day is ruined! Mondays, holdup starts as early as 5:20am.Returning home at night takes not less than 3hrs.People living there are going thru HELL! 1 Like |

“THE FORGOTTEN” IN LAGOS Boundary: North: the international airport axis South: Oluwu Stream at boundary with amuwo odofin LG East: Ejigbo swam along oke-afa West: swamp at isheri Osun Under the Osodi-Isolo local Government Area The people of Ejigbo LCDA can argue that they are not part of Lagos state due to the retrogression of the place and according to the media, Lagos is progressing in terms of development. This LCDA cannot boost of a one quality road and one can even say it has no road network. Of a truth there are signs of development in many part of Lagos but those who resides in Ejigbo are in doubts if they are in Laos at all. Could it be because it’s majorly the middle class and the lower class that resides in this area and the government don’t care about them? On talking with some of the residents of Ejigbo, a lady who is from the eastern part of Nigeria said “my village is far better than this place” even as some residents believe the cause of the retrogression is as a result of the Oba of Ejigbo Oba Moroof Adekunle Ojoola. Some believe the Oba hates progress and has only his interest at heart and many believe he is evil even as he his nicked named “okuku” meaning darkness. But the question one will ask is. can the Oba really impede development if the government wants to do something about it? After all he is just a state civil servant, although one of the functions of the Oba is to create a two way communication between the government and the grassroots. Can the Oba really be a culprit. Others points fingers at the LCDA chairman, Mr Bamigbetan Kehinde Oladapo and expressed surprise that he was once given best chairman in Lagos; BEST! with the sorry state of Ejigbo. When he was kidnapped earlier in the year, many of the residents were happy about it. Nevertheless, one must also put into consideration the financial limitations of the LCDAs; Even if they have the interest of their people at hand, finances might be the hindrance, taking us back to the state government. The holdup in this area in legendary second to no other, no matter the time you leave your house. The blessing the rain brings is seen as curse as it makes the roads mud traps and the glory of the sun as dust. In Ejigbo, the roads don’t respect new or old cars, it destroys all. Could there actually be a reason Ejigbo is forgotten? Is the government really for the rich populace? Or could it just be an oversight that is costing thousands of lagosians pain. The people of Ejigbo deserves to know why their government have left them to suffer and uses this medium to call the attention of the government to the sorry state of Ejigbo. Pls, this story needs to be heard. It might be the hope a community asking for what is rightfully theirs. Pictures will follow shortly. Eko o n baje oooo |

Honestly, its so pathetic! The traffik this morning was worse. Ejigbo is the worst lcda in Lagos state, no single road to boast of! Even Egbe-Idimu lcda has better roads, all the side roads are tarred and motorable! Ejigbo should take a cue from them. Also residents of oke afa are fond of putting up gates on interconnnecting roads, not that the roads are so great but at least one gets to beat the major road traffik a bit. And the rate at which the drainage at Iyana Ejigbo is being done, they might as well finish by 2015! Gov Fashola, pls come to our aid o. |
