@Phema nd others, tnx for doing dis great job. Have been a follower of this thread and have decided to comment today.
Mehn! It's not easy to plan a wedding o. My wedding is 4mnths away, am done with almost evrytin except for the hall issue. Church hall goes for 50k but the capacity is small btw 300-400 guests. Outside church halls, I found halls for cheapest 550k but today just got one for 200k for all for 500 guests.

Friends and relations can never do it well like professionals. After all, you are not paying them. And then, the remaining foodstuff disappears into thin air afterwards.

Dnt put anything in any family care. I did traditional last friday. We cooked starch and banga soup for my family and efo riro, egusi and semo for my in-laws, we later bought fufu to suppliment the semo. After persuading my mum to use all the native dry fish of close to 15k to cook the banga soup, they dished everything home using all my coolers. I was ashamed. My in-laws and others they brought along didnt eat nothing. Church members nko?

i dont seem to understand what u mean buy searching for halls in Asaba in 3months time.

If u are talking about this Dec, i will tell u that 95% of the Halls are fully booked in Asaba cos we are seriously having that challenge now, so we are thinking of moving the reception to a neighbouring town, like Ibusa, Okpanam, Okwe etc...

From my little knowlege about Asaba, Halls will be very free within that March and April period, except you are considering cost. Which i still know quiet well will be a bit low.
Re: Would Be Brides; Come In, Let's Plan Together! by cynbanora(f): 4:45pm On Dec 10, 2013
I need to print out my invitations and without getting a reception venue that won't be possible, my wedding is in April and I can't afford to start giving out ivs then. Yes I'm considering cost cos I have a budget, if its nt possible I will just consider doing it onicha ugbo cos we have a hotel there. And its accessible. Ibusa and okwe isn't far but where exactly are you talking about? Please keep me posted if you get a reasonable one. Thanks

This is the problem, u have a hotel in Onicha ugbo and u are looking for a hall in Asaba. My dear, do the church thing in Asaba, drive down to onicha Ugbo and do ur reception. This is lets than 1hr movement. From St Agnes Maryland to Civic Centre V.I in Lagos is more than 1hr on a saturday and pple go that far.

How many hours does reception take these days? 2-3hrs and u are done for the day and save ursef the cost.

I will update u later in the day to tell about Okwe and Okpanam arrangement if there is any

Welcome on board Komek! When and where is your wedding? What have u settled? What is yet to be done? In what area do you need assistance?

Truth is, these wedding items can either be expensive or cheap depending on where you source from.

I've only liked two wedding dresses since I started shopping for one and none of the two is more than 45k. It's all about planning and and sticking to budget.

Got married early this year, was supposed to be in Asaba but I ran away to Onitsha cos of the outrageous prices of things. I remember Southgate hotel's charge was 170k n the hall was quite nice. Have u tried Neros hotel? They hv diff halls at diff amount or Tourist garden hall which is close to Niger bridge at 80k or Labour House near NTA, their price is less than 100k. The DJ I used was so on point n he wasn't expensive. Hope I helped in my own way. Congrats to all intending brides. God be with u all.
