My opinion was some Yoruba people around that side consider the Fulanis inferior. It could be a mutual or religious thing, since Yorubas did not wholly embrace Islam the same way the north did.

besides, the Fulanis had to trick the Oyos in order to get a foothold in Yoruba territory (ie Kwara). They didnt have too much military success in the forest regions prior to that.

Kev-d, you are right. But would like to correct you that being in power does not mean you must develop just your people and leave the others and that is why the north is in this condition.  It is high time the northerners hold their leaders accountable for all their misdeed.
