shorxynla: *As ASUU officials assault journalists in
Minna
By Wole Mosadomi
Minna – Journalists were , Monday,
assaulted by some officials of the
Academic Staff Union of Universities
(ASUU), while they were waiting for the
outcome of the Union’s National
Executive Committee, NEC, meeting
holding at the Federal University of
Technology, in Minna.
The closed-door meeting which started
at about 11:30am was still ongoing at
press time.
However, there was disagreement
among ASUU members over the
presence of the media, some suggested
the media should stay because they are
doing their job, others persisted that
“we did not invite them. When we need
them, we will invite them.”

a meeting to review the ongoing
strike by ASUU held at the
Trenchard Hall of the University of
Ibadan. Photo: Dare Fasube.
The Vice Chancellor, Federal University
of Technology Minna, Prof. Musbau
Akanji, who got wind of the altercation
between journalists and the ASUU
officials, intervened saying, “although, I
am not a part of the meeting but I am
apologizing on their behalf because they
are in my territory.
“This place (FUT, Minna) is a Federal
Government institution, and it is a
public place that everybody, including
journalists can enter, especially when
they are doing their job.”
As at the time of filing this report, the
strike has not been called off.

WHAT TO BELIEVE??
ASUU STRIKE CALLED OFF OR NOT??
Why cant we have valid reports on this issue. Daily
post, a renowned media house announced around 3
pm that the strike has been called off, their post were
re-announced and seconded by osun defender and
national mirror (who later deleted their post about the
strike being called off). TVC and Galaxy television
announced the suspension of the strike. If it were not
true, I am sure TVC would have apologised since
afternoon for giving a misleading information. if it
were not true, Galaxy TV (lagos) wont announce it now
on their 9pm news broadcast.
Later this evening, vanguard, a national newspaper
said just about an hour ago that ASUU is yet to call off
strike, and they said the meeting was still ongoing at
press time.
Now, I ask, are there 2 NEC meetings going on,
because one can deduce from this two media houses
that they attended two different ASUU NEC meetings.
vanguard came out with the news that journalists
were being assaulted by ASUU officials (if this
allegation is true, then its a disgrace on FAGGE's so-
called INTELLECTUALS).
ANYWAY, MY ISSUE NOW IS: WHICH ARE WE TO
BELIEVE??
won ti call off, abi won o ti call off?

GEJ, for the first time ever, u now hv my support for the "Resume or be sacked" order for ASUU... ASUU executives are now officially conglomerates of selfish old fools who obviously are just concerned about their own selfish intrest. God help u students!

May the GODS guide you away from sin for worshipping a jewish man like a slave.

The man who created the religion which caused you anestors and my people so much suffering.

The religion which sent your ancestors in crowded slave ships to a life of tortre and death.
