In the olden days, about 20 years 1. rice is not a everyday food. 2.was not a poor/ common man food. 3. Good imported rice like uncle bens rice can only be bought by rich man. 4. The local rice was mixed with stones so people can not eat it . For this reasons people prepare for xmas by buying quality rice to be prepare on xmas day and serve guest. Rice wthen was once in a year or festival fod. However nowadays rice has become everday |

The truth be spoken, rice is easier cooked than any other meal. Think about Semo, Iyan, Amala, Ikokore, Porridge, etc.. All this meal will exert the woman"s energy, except she's ready to take her time and task herself. Until we get another kind of food, universally accepted, easy to prepare, last when stored, could me warmed or micro-waved without stress, which could accept all kinds of stew or soup (except draw soups of course), which could be spiced colourfuly with different types of condiments, and so on, then RICE remains the People's choice. Merry Christmas Everyone. |

The correct answer is: Rice is the king of grains. In every society royalty is respected; so rice gets special treatment. And this has always been so ages b4 our worse than useless leaders began to import rice. This post is authoritative because I was a rice farmer and still a farmer by inclination. |

buskie13: The truth is just dat, many Nigerians dont eat rice as in de way de eat eba or amala on daily basis, dey see rice as a once in a year food. abeg who eats garri and amala on a daily basis? Rice is even more common than those foods, IMO o. Anyway @ OP, aside the fact that rice is delicious when well prepared, almost everybody can eat at any time of the day. Imagine loading a pot with beans only for all ur visitors to say ' thanks, am OK ' |

Even after ur so-called useless leaders imported rice, rice remained the most important grain, so what is ur point? |
