** FG distributes 10,500 bags of fertilisers to farmers in Sokoto

December 25, 2013 by NAN

The Federal Government on Wednesday distributed 10,500 bags of assorted fertiliser to 3,500 irrigation farmers in Kware local government area of Sokoto State.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the ceremony, which took place at Kware town, the headquarters of the local government Area, was presided over by Dr Jubril Enesi, the state Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

Enesi, who was represented by Mr Abubakar Mohammed, said that the gesture was extended to the beneficiaries under the Growth Enhancement Support scheme of the Federal Government.

He said that each of the beneficiaries was given two bags of NPK fertiliser, one bag of Urea, a 25kg bag of rice seeds and two 2-litre cans of agrolyser nutrients.

“The three bags of fertiliser and the agrolyser were subdised by 50 per cent by the Federal Government, while the rice seeds are free,”he added.

Enesi said that the gesture was aimed at encouraging more Nigerians to engage in all-year round farming activities.

“This is to further guarantee the food security of the country, as the need for food is next to nothing,” he said.

The Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Abubakar Zamau, and the District Head of Kware, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, commended the Federal Government for the gesture.

They warned the beneficiaries against selling the commodities, so as not to cause any setback to the government’s laudable policy.

Bia OP,
stop starting "wrong" threads here!

If you want to start "correct" threads, take example from list below.

"APC is the Messiah - say Buhari"
"Jonathan is the most corrupt Nigerian ever lived - Tinubu"
"I will fight to the last blood - Amechi"
"Your days are numbered - OBJ to GEJ"
"PDP is finished - Kwakwanso"
"Igbos are ungrateful - Joe Igbokwe"
"Jonathan is incompetent - Lia Mohammed"
"The camp for 1000 snippers discovered in Iran - Sahara Reporters"
etc

Now, for you information, don't expect any serious comments on this threa.

Reason?? Majority of the Nairalanders are naturally "blind" to this kind of thread!

Bros, you may have a big "problem" ooo.
See, they want threads that "trend".

Any thread not "trending" is not a "good" thread.

And this kind thread you just started, will never trend let alone hit front page.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

They wont give up anything.
You may soon see headlines revealing the "SCAM" for the project.

Of they may even say that the rice is a killer rice.

Obviously, some people are allergic to positive reports but that cannot deter us.
