OWERRI—The immediate past Chief Judge of Imo State,
Justice Paul Onumajulu, has decried the comatose state
of local government councils in the state.

According to him, local government administration
ought to be the hub of development in the state.

Justice Onumajulu, who spoke in Owerri at a seminar
organised by the Public Complaints Commission, PCC,
said: “If those that determine the affairs of this country,
the states and local governments and officers that serve
under such governments are not constantly reminded of
the wrongs they commit in the course of their
administration, this country would be heading for the
precipice.”

He noted that occasionally, organs of government such
as PCC should organize seminars at which their
responsibilities, duties and functions should be brought
to the knowledge of the common man.

“The law that established this institution spread its
dragnet so wide that it covers all tiers of government. It
extends to companies incorporated under the
Companies and Allied Matters Act.

“What you think, say or do may be wrong in their various
applications and if they are wrong, it behoves members
of the public to run to the Commission to lay their
complaint,” Onumajulu said.

Delivering a lecture, Professor U. U. Chukwumaeze,
condemned the sacking of 10,000 youths employed by
the Ikedi Ohakim administration, dissolution of statutory
boards and commissions, impeachment of the former
deputy governor, Sir Jude Agbaso and the withdrawal of
accreditation earlier given the Faculty of Law, Imo State
University, Owerri.

“The Faculty of Law, which is the greatest image maker
faculty of the University, lost accreditation last year, not
as a result of the students or lectures but on record, as
a result of lack of befitting structure,” the university don
said.

While describing the sacking of Agbaso as “very pathetic”,
Chukwumaeze also sought to know why Joseph Dina
was paid in excess of the contract price.

where isthe money now? Yet, an innocent citizen has
been disgraced on unconfirmed trumped up allegations,”
Chukwumaeze said.

My brothers, we were reallyy decieved. We all
are regreating it 2day. Ohakim could have been
better true. He said that he is giving free
education to the University level but my son
who got admission there, I have paid so far 92
thousand. During Ohakim, fees were 50
thousand
He is in APC now. Because of his treatcherious
life style that's why he was chased out of
PDP.
Well, APGA has gone to court to claim there
mandate. He must be shown a way out from
that sit.

Rochas is the worst thing that ever happens to
Imo State. He came to power under false
pretence; Imolites were deceived by his so
called ROCHAS FOUNDATION, without knowing
that the NGO is being funded by foreign
donors. Take a look at his so called free
education policy, The indigenous of Imo can no
longer secure admission in Imo State University
simply because he wants non indigenous that
would pay school fees. His administration has
never completed a single viable project since
it's inception. Rochas is the more you look, the
less you see.

Show us a State that. Stayed 8 years without Local Government elections and I will show you 90% of Nigerian States. Our immediate neighbour Anambra is almost done with his 8 years having no elections and no LGAs. Rochas is deliberately being witch-haunted and given a bad name through lies and blackmail. Anyone denying free education to secondary level is lying. Anyone denying the existence of new storey building school blocks in nearly all wards is also lying. Anyone denying the significant increase in infrastructure of the State is lying.

Do you want more? The lies against Rochas are so much that I visited Imo and felt bad at the blackmail. People were made to disregard his achievements and believe the bad economic situation in Nigeria is his fault. They say he's working because he has Presidential ambitions.

I recently had a discussion with a student of rochas foundation school in ibadan here, I was very surprised to learn that the school isn't only free, but he gives them free uniform, free note books and textbooks also lunch meal every single week day!

If any igbo man is to become the president it will have to be him.

Only if peter obi is publicly stoned first sha.
