What is your opinion about the wooden imported door as shown above, the one in a carton?

It looks good... but if the last photo you showed in that 3 pictures is how they make that door, then I will also pass.
It's look like they also put two covers on another wood.. it's not a one wood built like our local door.. if anything gets in the middle of that wood then it will like the one decaying that you showed. Tell me I am wrong..

i like that imported door. But nothing stops them in 9ja from manufacturing the likes. Besides, if imported door measurrement differs from entrance frame, it can be easily modified so long it's wood without messing it up. Am sure.

The imported wooden doors look okay. The finishing is good. I also think say the locally made door you put for the thread is okay but the only thing is that with local doors, when harmattan come or weather change, you go begin see wide gap between the door and the frame or gap go begin dey for that de place wey design dey (i.e. the rectangular spaces). Otherwise for aesthtics, i think the well finished, polished and sprayed local door competes favorably.

I like the points you raised, my dilemma is the cost of the foreign door when I consider that we might be needing about 76 internal doors for this complex, about 22 entrance doors which might be made of metal. Now let us look at the cost in total.

Foreign door N11,000
Door frame N3500
Keys and handle/hinges & nails /bolt/staple N3500
Installing the frame N1000
Hanging the door and keys N1500
Total for one door N20500 (excluding loading and transportation to site)

We are looking at over N1.5m for only the internal doors (foreign)

Supposing we go back and use this simple Nigerian made door, cheaper than the earlier shown picture of N12,000-N15,000. This door sells for only about N5,500-N6000.

Local door N6000
Door frame N3000
keys and accessories N3500
Installing the door frames N1000
Hanging the doors N1500
Total cost for one door (excluding cost of transportation) N15,000.

The cost of this pictured door is about N1.14m

You are not wrong, my fear about these foreign door is water. Imagine these doors in toilets or bathrooms where water is splashed often. I dey fear o.

I believe if our local door is left to dry very well.. then it should not matter when harmattan comes or weather changes..
But it's a good point..

I think for the 400k difference I will go for the imported door if they are as strong as the local door and it will be more fancy too.

My fear is that the local manufacturers cannot achieve consistent quality across 76 wooden plus 22 metal doors especially when you pressure them to deliver on time. Like Oga Hajj said, if the differential is pegged at N400k and the foreign doors are strong, it might be worth considéring. Also design bathrooms to prevent water splashing on doors. That's the only area I see the risk with water. An alternative is to use different (local) doors for the bathrooms only.

Thank you Hajj and Peoplesarmy. There are so many doors of different sizes in this building. The 76 doors includes all 6 flats of 3 bedrooms (executive), 2 flats of 1 Bedroom with en suite bathroom and kitchen.

We have about 22 external doors in this building, but I am researching on the cost for it now. I am looking for metal doors for security reasons, it could either be local or foreign door.

One thing I am sure about you is that you will get a cost effective and quality products to suit this house. No doubt about it.
But Yes, metal doors are a must for the External doors.
