At NextHome we believe great homes starts with the foundation – and that buildings should be designed to be responsive to and respectful of the surrounding environment.
This Agungi Terrace project got us thinking about construction efficiencies and time-saving techniques especially when building in water-logged sites.

So… today’s picture post shows the assembly of the formwork for the footings and the foundation walls of this beautiful project and how we planned to minimize air infiltration, conserve resources, prevent groundwater contamination and protect the completed foundation from moisture damage over time using marine-grade plywood.

In my opinion, windows and doors have contributed largely to ruining the character of our properties. And many people knoweth not. Windows and Doors are the first thing that greets your prospect.

Perhaps it doesn’t matter how our houses have been modernised over the years. If it lacks character, it is just another building on the block without value.

So, if people buy houses that have “character”, why can’t that character extend to your doors and windows?

New and Fresh - Residential Remodel of a House in LASU

As a design/build company we get to work on lots of our own projects, but we also have the opportunity to work with clients, architects and other contractors. Working with our clients is actually an important part of our business because it allows us to branch out and learn about types of design or construction we have not worked before, and also see how it fits.

This residential remodel project was designed by NextHome Design and Build Co. with a true contemporary Northwest feel.

As part of the traditions, we'll be sharing some photos we took while walking through the house. Thanks to the homeowners (a Nairalander) for appointing us as the Principal Contractor for this project.

Among the many positive changes of the new year comes a big one for NextHome Builders. We’re expanding! As of Jan. 1, 2015, you will find our new business office at H52, Ikota Shopping Complex, just beside VGC, Lekki/Epe Expressway, Lagos.

NextHome at H52

Work recently began on the new office remodel at H52. Several areas of the old shop are being remodeled to match our personality and style. A few major upgrade in our new office are highlighted below.

1. Make the small office space as sleek and functional as possible. (It's really amazing working with 247sq ft office space).

2. Update all the office’s aesthetics. New paint, carpet, chairs, lighting - all the things that make a place feel modern and that make us run more efficiently will the upgraded.

3. Technological update. (That's my area of core competence, you'll soon find out at the H52)

4. Facelifting the front facade.

The new office is a reflection of our company's image, style and personality and will inspire our employees and clients alike.
